DeliveryMaxx partners with Carpe Diem Private Preschool to Educate the World

“Not only is Carpe Diem Private Preschool a great story, so is their CEO and Founder, Ashley Murphree.  I am excited to partner with such an exceptional leader in early childhood education”- James Schaefer, COO of DeliveryMaxx

Every day is an opportunity to nurture the mind, develop the body, and strengthen the spirit. At Carpe Diem, every facet the preschool - from their degreed educators and inspired array of programs, to their secure, state-of-the-art facility - is designed to provide children with an enriching experience and a strong foundation for learning and individual development.  Carpe Diem Private Preschool is truly building the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

When Ashley Murphree, CEO and Founder of Carpe Diem Private Preschool planned to have children of her own, she did extensive research and wasn’t pleased with the available options for childcare.  At that point, she decided to open her own preschool, which would offer the very best staff, facilities, and curriculum based on the most current research on developmentally appropriate learning and practices for young children.  She also wanted to change the widely held view of childcare givers as undervalued employees to that of professional teachers, by valuing their expertise and providing corporate benefits to her staff.

The result is Carpe Diem Private Preschool, an American dream come true. Carpe Diem Richardson opened in 2001, Frisco in 2005, Allen in 2009, and Southlake in 2010.  Mrs. Murphree plans to continue to expand, which will provide more children and families access to Carpe Diem’s exceptional and exemplary approach to early childhood education and care.

Now the story could end right there, but it doesn’t.  Mrs. Murphree shares a wealth of knowledge to her business, employees, communities, and the children she educates and cares for.

Ashley’s amazing journey actually begins in 1979 in Saigon during the Vietnam War when she and her family escaped Vietnam huddled in the bottom of a small, wooden boat.  It was an arduous ordeal, but they survived; and eventually, they found their way to the Dallas area in 1980 and settled in Garland, Texas.  With a strong work ethic and a great deal of determination, Ashley put herself through college at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration.  She worked for several years as a Human Resource professional before completely dedicating her time to building Carpe Diem Private Preschool into a leading early childhood educational program.

In her spare time, Ashley has given many motivational talks to community groups focusing on women in the workforce, leadership skills, and the importance of education at every age level.  Region 10 and the Richardson Junior League named Ashley as one of its “Sheroes,” who are young women who have succeeded despite the odds by improving themselves through education.  These women’s stories serve as an inspiration to others.

Ashley’s amazing personal and business story has also been the subject of many articles in the Dallas Morning News, the Dallas Business Journal, which awarded her the 2012 Minority Business Leader, University of Texas at Arlington Magazine, which named her an “Entrepreneur Extraordinaire.”  National media, such as Entrepreneur Magazine listed her on their “Hot List” and The New York Times, have also featured Ashley’s business savvy.

After careful consideration, Carpe Diem Private Preschool has chosen to partner with DeliveryMaxx charging them with providing digital solutions that will help spread Mrs. Murphree’s educational programs and opportunities throughout the world wide web.  DeliveryMaxx will be charged with providing Carpe Diem Private Preschool with a strong social media marketing program and online reputation management services.

“Not only is Carpe Diem Private Preschool a great story, so is their CEO and Founder, Ashley Murphree.  I am excited to partner with such an exceptional leader in early childhood education” states, James Schaefer; DeliveryMaxx’s Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder.  “Ashley is such an amazing person and that resonates throughout Carpe Diem making it one of the most sought out private preschools in North Texas.”

Southwest KIA Dealership Group Recognized by Automotive News

Automotive News has long been the primary source of industry news, data and understanding for the industry’s decision-makers interest in North America.  Since 1925 when the newspaper was founded; Automotive News found new ways to provide information and value to meet the changing needs of its readers.

In May, Automotive News held a roundtable event in Dallas, Texas in hopes that ideas provided by participants would improve automotive dealerships employee morale, revenue stream, and savings thus increasing the bottom line.  With today’s consumer having a plethora of choices of where to buy their next vehicle, dealerships are always looking for ways to gain additional market share by attracting new customers.  The automotive consumer has changed the way they find their new car, truck, or suv.  With the inception of the internet, car research and buying can take place 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  “The consumer knows exactly what kind of vehicle they want for the price they want to pay” says, Steve Dodge, General Manager of Southwest KIA Rockwall.  “Nowadays, a buyer will know just about everything there is to know about the dealership including the salespeople who are employed before they arrive on the dealership floor.”  The average consumer is doing all of the research on the internet and statistics show they are visiting 1.3 dealerships versus shopping 4.6 dealerships in years past.  Dodge also adds, “Not only is the consumer using the internet to select a great dealership to buy from, but they are also using the internet to deselect dealerships that don’t look appealing.”

The roundtable session provided attendees with great ideas they would be able to implement at each of their dealerships.  Some of these ideas included hiring non-commission sales people to lessen the negotiation pressure consumers have long been accustom to when making a new vehicle purchase to the recruiting of college graduates erasing the image of the “used-car salesman” perception.
Southwest KIA Dealership Group with locations in Mesquite, Rockwall, and Dallas created the most excitement at the conference by presenting an idea they have been utilizing with outstanding success for the past couple of years provided by a company named DeliveryMaxx.  “Utilizing DeliveryMaxx services has allowed us to create a forum for our customers to share their great experiences on the web.  Our CSI scores, sales, service, and online reviews have increased dramatically with this program” exclaims James Seale, General Manager of Southwest KIA Mesquite.  “They are like three companies in one because they provide a way for our customers to share their great experiences with the world through a custom review portal that we control at the dealership.  DeliveryMaxx helps us market to potential customers by taking a picture at the time of delivery, and then embeds code and our dealership branding pushing this advertising to all of the friends and family of the customer who just bought a new vehicle.  Because of this, our referrals and online reputation have gone up allowing us to sell more cars.”  With DeliveryMaxx and Southwest KIA’s “Customer First” mentality; the dealership has had unprecedented growth and received numerous awards and recognition for their customer service.

The Southwest KIA Dealerships continue to stay ahead of their counterparts utilizing new and innovative tools to make their customers feel welcomed.  They have long held the belief that a happy customer becomes a customer for life.  “Decisions on buying a vehicle is no longer about price, but about how much the dealership cares for its customers.  People will share their experience, and utilizing DeliveryMaxx’s program, our customers have helped us win additional buyers.”  For Southwest KIA Dealerships contribution to the roundtable discussion they were awarded recognition for one of the “Best New Ideas” of the session.

“We are honored and very excited that Southwest KIA has been recognized for their contributions to the automotive industry.  Because of their desire to be the dealership of choice; they have been very instrumental in our development of new technology.  James and Steve both suggested that they would love to have their reviews with pictures scrolling across their website.  We just took that idea a little further, and made it possible providing code that they could target market a particular vehicle to customers disseminating the reviews by make and model.  DeliveryMaxx is also about to launch our new smartphone app within 30 days that will allow online reviews and social media marketing happen within minutes of the customer purchasing a vehicle versus 24 hours from the time they made a purchase” explains James Schaefer, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of DeliveryMaxx.

In addition to collecting reviews, marketing great experiences of happy customers; DeliveryMaxx also writes unlimited blogs, post special events, and participates in event marketing with the North Texas dealerships.
“Southwest KIA has been as helpful to us as we have been to them.  They are great at what they do, and the people they have are some of the best in the industry.  DeliveryMaxx just provides the technology, service, and platform that make it possible for the Southwest KIA story to be told” says Josh Deaton, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of DeliveryMaxx.

Southwest KIA Dallas, Southwest KIA of Rockwall, and Southwest KIA of Mesquite are prime examples of growth within the North Texas automotive market.  This group of family owned dealerships expanded from a single point in 2001 into five stores throughout Texas in less than ten years. The Southwest Dealer Group is currently ranked well within the top 125 highest volume selling automotive groups in the United States by Automotive News.

SEARCHING FOR THE RIGHT CAR: HOW TO HELP A SALESPERSON WORK FOR YOU

Most of us approach the process (and boy can it be a process!) of car buying with the same level of enthusiasm we bring to having major surgery.  As stressful as this can sometimes be, it can quickly get even crazier if you ever decide to use it as a “quality” learning experience for your kid or any other first time car buyer who hasn’t yet had the pleasure of experiencing the mental and verbal gymnastics that have become so much a part of the car buying process for so many of us.

Folks, since this little exercise is all about getting the salesperson to work for you, here are some things to keep in mind that will make your next car buying expedition less stressful and more focused and effective for all concerned.  Let’s face it, you’re there in the first place because you’re looking for a car and any dealership worthy of the name would like to earn your business.

There’s a very good reason dealership sales people are frequently called “Sales Consultants”; the conscientious ones are product experts that will answer any questions you may have about their product line.  Not only that, but if they’ve been trained properly, during your initial meeting they will have some key questions for you (hence “Consultants”); this isn’t because they are nosey by nature – they are trying to gather enough information to be of some help to you in your quest for a new chariot.  SO DON’T BE STINGY WITH THE INFO!  The following is a sampling of the kind of information that an astute sales person will find useful in helping you pick out the right vehicle for your needs.

1. Are you replacing a vehicle?

2. How will you be using the vehicle (commuting, business, etc.)?

3. If commuting, is fuel efficiency or comfort most important to you?

4. How important is performance?

5. Do you prefer sedans or coupes?

6. Light colors or dark colors?

7. Is resale value important to you when considering a purchase?

8. If applicable, how often do you trade vehicles?

9. Once you’ve picked out a vehicle are you planning to finance it?  Does the safety rating of any vehicle you intend to purchase play a part in your decision making process?

10. What features would you like the vehicle you ultimately select to have?

The decision to tap into the skills and expertise of a trained professional who earns his or her living by how effectively they help to take the stress out of the car buying process and make it even a little bit fun and exciting ought to rank right next to remembering to buckle-up before heading out to work in the morning!

Notice that I haven’t even mentioned payments yet – why, because until you have picked out a vehicle that will satisfy your needs, pricing really has no need to come up. Any major purchase must certainly satisfy your needs as you have defined them before you even consider whether or not you can afford them. If you’ve made a partner of your sales consultant early in the process then there is less likelihood of a mismatch between “needs” and “wants” when it comes time to see what the new vehicle you’ve fallen in love with will cost.

Best to consider a good sales consultant your very own personal shopper for the time you are visiting the dealer.  Happy hunting!

Kids enjoying Texas vs. the Nation All-Star game thanks to Dodge City of McKinney & DeliveryMaxx

Dodge City of McKinney, the title sponsor of Texas vs. the Nation College Football All-Star Game, provided tickets, suites, and sideline passes for fans to see the game up-close.

DeliveryMaxx COO, James Schaefer enjoyed the opportunity to take his son and three of his friends to the game after working hard for Dodge City to promote the game via Social Media Marketing.

The boys, all from Rockwall and players on Mr. Schaefer's sons basketball & baseball team (Texans) were able to experience a close-up view from the sideline, locker room, and press box.  They had the same access to the players as the NFL scouts.

DeliveryMaxx performs behind the scenes helping make a wish come true

It is not all of the time that a company will step up, and give time and financial assistance to help others.  As a matter of fact, most large companies make the news because of corporate greed or embezzlement.

However, on January 2nd, 2013 DeliveryMaxx helped one of its clients, Dodge City of McKinney support the Make-A-Wish foundation of North Texas raise more than $25,000 to help grant a wish to two children.

The 2013 Wish-A-Thon sponsored by Dodge City of McKinney was a new all-day charitable event hosted by Dallas Cowboys great, "The Original 88", Drew Pearson. The public was invited to join Dodge City of McKinney and guest as they break a YouTube record by broadcasting the longest YouTube Live event ever while filming for FOX Sports Southwest.

The sole purpose of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of North Texas is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, in order to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  The foundation wants to provide children with the hope for better times, the strength for the tough times and the joy to experience the present. "Our goal was simple," stated Jim Proctor of Dodge City of McKinney. "We wanted to raise enough money to grant not just one, but several wishes for 2013".

The event had many stars that helped celebrate the event.  DeliveryMaxx helped publicize the event and then enjoyed rubbing elbows with the celebrities who participated.

Drew Pearson, of The Drew Pearson Show “More Than Just Sports” hosted the Wish-A-Thon for Dodge City of McKinney.  He spent the day interviewing guest and filming the show for Fox Sports Southwest.

Why some people are Successful and others Won't Take Time to Read this Post

Success is defined differently from person to person.  Some define success as the amount of material possessions one gains before they are laid to rest for eternity.  Others define success as the loved ones who surround one in a time of need.

Power, wealth, knowledge, happiness are words that usually accompany many definitions of Success; however, have you ever sat down and looked at why some people claim the title of successful, and others fill their days with envy?

For simplicity’s sake this article will define success as “the achievement of one’s goals.”  However, if one stops reading at this point the likelihood of them being described as successful will suffer the same fate as the Egyptians during their chase of the Israelites when Moses parted the Red Sea.  To achieve a goal, especially one with meaning or purpose to one’s life there are several steps which need to be taken.  Success does not happen by luck.  It is earned.  Now that we have entered a New Year, many thoughts are turned toward new resolutions.  Most of these resolutions involve a desire of success, and most of the resolutions will be broken before this article can be read in its entirety.

Establish a Clear Definition of Success

Clear_definition_of_success_deliverymaxx
First Step that should be taken is to establish your clear definition of success.  Do you want to make more money?  Do you want to sell more of your product?  Do you want to move into management?  Do you want to leave a legacy for future generations?  The definition is yours, so define it immediately!

Be specific about your definition.  I have been around those who have stated, “I want to make more money.”  That is too broad.  As a matter of fact, if you pick up a lost coin in the parking lot then you have achieved this broad statement, but you have come no closer to your definition of success than we have come to putting a man on Mars.

Take a moment and write down what you want to accomplish this year, five years from now, and ten years from now.  Do this every year.

Create your Path to Success (By the way…your parents were right)

Choices_deliverymaxx
Every morning you should look in the mirror, and establish which road you are taking that day to move towards success.  Every night you should revisit yourself in the mirror, and identify where you are on your path and what is working and what is not working.

There are talkers, and there are doers.  It is easy to dream, and hope that success falls in your lap.  However, as your parents have told you, “If it were easy, everyone would be doing it”.  It is tough to walk blindly into the unknown, but people who fail to plan end up failing.

Write down how you are going to accomplish your goals, and revisit them daily.

Identify Challenges and take Advantage of Opportunities

Deliverymaxx_opportunities
There will always be potholes in the road.  Sometimes your car will hit these potholes and damage to your vehicle will occur.  You have to make the choice if you are going to pull over and wait until the potholes are fixed before you continue your journey, or you will need to identify potential hazards and how to navigate around them.

In addition, look for opportunities.  When I first entered the workforce, I was told that most people will be given at least two opportunities in life to establish their career path.  What I wasn’t told was how to realize an opportunity has presented itself and to take advantage of it.  Keep your eyes open looking for these opportunities.  They will present themselves to you at any time, and if you are not ready than you will miss them.  However, don’t be the driver who is waiting for the pothole to be fixed because it won’t.

Identify obstacles that will present a challenge, and create a plan to overcome them.  There is always a solution.

Fear Failure but don’t Quit when you Fail

Deliverymaxx_fear_failure
Every day should be treated as it is your last day.  Do not visit your maker with regrets.  If you have, you have failed.  However, mistakes and misfortunes happen.  Again, you will have a choice to continue or to quit.  If you quit, the game is over for you.  Thomas Edison example tried unsuccessfully over a thousand times to create the light bulb, but he didn’t give up. When asked why he failed so many times he simple said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 1,000 ways that won’t work.”

Record what has gone right and challenges that prevented you from achieving small wins.  Repeat the positive and learn from the negative.  Your list will grow daily.

Surround yourself with Greatness and Learn from them

Greatness_deliverymaxx
Mark Twain once said, “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.  Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you too, can become great.  When you are seeking to bring big plans to fruition, it is important with whom you regularly associate.  Hang out with friends who are like-minded and who are also designing purpose-filled lives.  Similarly be that kind of a friend for your friends.

People can pick you up or knock you down.  It is easier to move while standing then it is on your back.  Find a mentor or mentors who will encourage you, and give you sound advice.  The more of these mentors you have in your corner, the more information you will have at your disposal.

Write down the names of individuals who are positive, will encourage, and teach.  Communicate with these individuals weekly, and keep them updated on your progress.  They will continue to push you further.

Nice is not a weakness

Androcles_lion_deliverymaxx
In general, people want to see others succeed and for the most part will help them reach their goals.  Whether you believe that statement or not, I promise you that if you are a jerk no one will go out of their way to help you.  I’m not saying let people walk all over you, but do you remember the Aesop fable about the slave named Androcles?

A slave named Androcles once escaped from his master and fled to the forest. As he was wandering about there he came upon a lion lying down moaning and groaning. At first he turned to flee, but finding that the lion did not pursue him, he turned back and went up to him. As he came near, the lion put out his paw, which was all swollen and bleeding, and Androcles found that a huge thorn had got into it, and was causing all the pain. He pulled out the thorn and bound up the paw of the lion, which was soon able to rise and lick the hand of Androcles like a dog. Then the lion took Androcles to his cave, and every day used to bring him meat from which to live.

But shortly afterwards both Androcles and the lion were captured, and the slave was sentenced to be thrown to the lion, after the latter had been kept without food for several days.  The emperor and all his court came to see the spectacle, and Androcles was led out into the middle of the arena. Soon the lion was let loose from his den and rushed bounding and roaring towards his victim. But as soon as he came near to Androcles he recognized his friend, and fawned upon him, and licked his hands like a friendly dog.

The emperor, surprised at this, summoned Androcles to him, who told him the whole story. Where upon the slave was pardoned and freed, and the lion let loose to his native forest.

Reflect on how you treated others.  Ask yourself, “Would you be happy if you were treated the same way?”

Enjoy Your Success

Number_1_national_championship
This is a journey of life.  Each day will continue to build upon itself.  Take a moment, and enjoy the little successes you earn because they will multiply.  Ultimately, you will be the one that everyone is talking about when they are discussing the definition of success and granting the title of being successful.
