Cincinnati Bengals fans are probably the happiest in the country right now with the first-round pick and LSU Tigers star Joe Burrow set to take snaps if and when the NFL season starts up in a few months. Being a Dallas Cowboy fan myself, I am happy that Dak Prescott will have another weapon to throw to with CeeDee Lamb falling down to number 17 on the draft board. This is certainly a lot more fun to talk about and even debate than the ongoing arguments of how bad the coronavirus really is and when can we open up the economy to avoid The 2nd Great Depression. It seems like nobody really wants to lead because elections are coming up and many politicians major source of income is on the backs of the American Tax Payer. Of course it doesn’t help when the media sensationalizes every death that happens and the CDC is attributing thousands of death to those who might have a symptom that is related to the seasonal virus even though the medical examiner has not confirmed the actual cause of death was caused by COVID-19. Paying hospitals $12,000 to $40,000 per Coronavirus case answers many skeptics’ questions as to why the politicians, media and many in the medical community want a high number of cases.
With any game that is played, you must know the rules first. This will allow you to have a strategy and plan accordingly, so you can lead your team to victory. The first thing that you should know are the facts or landscape of where you are playing, so you can interpret the rules. This is a Presidential Election Year, the United States was winning the trade war with China and many Democrats and Republicans had grown tired of our President not adhering to the norms of past politicians.
As of Friday, April 24, 2020; the United States has 50,954 total deaths with 26,711 coming from New York and New Jersey. (Yes that includes the 4,000 deaths attributed to victims that were assumed to have the virus but never confirmed.) Thankfully, this is much less than the 2.2 million deaths that Epidemiologist, Neil Ferguson originally projected and our politicians and media all used to scare Americans into giving up their rights and hide in their homes. (Sort of. They also allowed businesses like Walmart, Home Depot, Braum’s and other Big Boxes to stay open catering to thousands of people at a time while they demanded small businesses that would be happy to have 1000 customers in a month to shutdown.)
The 2nd Great Depression will cause many more deaths, but that is another game the politicians will get to play at the expense of the people.
We were told to hunker in place for 2-4 weeks because our hospital capacity could not withstand the wave of people. We were told the beds, ventilators and other equipment would get overwhelmed. Graphs with a bell curve were used to show patients vs. hospital capacity to get us on board. We got on board and we did that. We followed the plan.
We sold out our economy and sent our friends and neighbors into financial ruin (or at least complete government dependency) to buy us the time. Our kids missed out on once in a lifetime memory making events such as graduations, proms and sports. Those kids gave those things up for us. Let that never ever be taken lightly. We shut down our churches. We cooperated with the plan. The plan was to prepare our medical system for the wave. That was the plan and we adhered to that plan.
Now, it appears the new goal is to hunker in place until the virus is gone. Yes, they are moving the goalposts on us. The original plan was to hunker in place to gain time to arrange for the curve of patients to hospital bed capacity. The new goalpost is to hunker for more time.
Is it to hunker down until the virus is gone? Hunkering in place until its gone presents a couple things that we have to put into consideration. 1) Everyone has to get COVID-19 but it will be slowly, so hold on until that is completed or 2) We come up with a vaccine that everyone in the world MUST take. Both of these scenarios mean a VERY long time in hunker down mode. Of course no one wants to do the math on the loss of life that comes along with staying in the hunker down mode. Even if someone does that math, our media will not show it, and of course the hired jesters of the world (Jimmie Kimmel, Steve Colbert, Jimmie Fallen....) will mock and discredit the information.
As a small business owner, you must rely on tools and networking to survive in this climate, much like football teams that play Green Bay Packers in December! Make no mistake, the government and mainstream media is not going to worry about you, so you will have to build up your brand and create a loyal customer following. It will be important for you to stay consistent and vigilant during these tough times. A couple of things you can do that will help you weather the storm as the local Mayors and County Judges continue to move the goalpost: Networking, Helping Others, Stay Transparent and Show Empathy for Others. By doing this you will build a strong team willing to play hard on both sides of the ball. DeliveryMaxx still believes that providing a strong moral compass will be advantageous to you in the future.
Now, every team has a strategy. Your game plan must include the willingness to adapt no matter how corrupt the referees are in the game. To recover or even avoid being completely shut down, businesses must embrace a technological transformation in automation as well as trying to provide their message to the masses gaining a reach to solicit, sell and service their products. In today’s world, businesses now more than ever must have a digital strategy. Today it is the Coronavirus, tomorrow it will be something else. Our customers are spending more hours of the day online shopping, researching or mindless browsing. That means with more eyes than ever before looking at the internet for information, your business must have a complete digital strategy that includes positive Online Reputation, stronger SEO, concise Content Management, increase in Social Media Engagement and Advertisement and higher Customer Retention. To meet these strategies businesses must use Blogs, Reviews, Daily Post, Video Messaging, Automated Follow-Up, Email Blast and Website Development & Optimization.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots certainly understood how to win. Each time the rules were changed they adapted. When the NFL made rules to keep them from having an advantage, they adapted again. (It’s been since 1995 that the Cowboys have adapted well enough to add to their 5 Super Bowl Championships!)

Brace Yourself for a Bumpy Ride
Whether you think the virus was overhyped or it was the most
dangerous disease since Ebola a couple of years ago, we are all in for a bumpy
ride. Not only will businesses have to
adapt to the climate we are in, but so will many consumers. DeliveryMaxx is here to help businesses
overcome the obstacles they will face while navigating the new playing field
that seems to be changing daily.
In the beginning there were two schools of thought. The first group were those who believed
walking outside would lead to certain death of your loved ones and thus they
embraced a two week or even two month inconvenience of shutting down all
businesses. Of course that didn’t mean
essential businesses like Walmart, Costco, McDonalds, Braum’s, liquor stores, government
offices and other “essential businesses”.
As long as we saved one life the cost of a few dollars in somebody’s
pocket was a price they were willing to take.
Many of the people who were in favor for a little break in the hustle
and bustle of life were those who worked in the medical fields, education and
had jobs that continued to pay their salaries.
However, the second group of dissenters questioned the
politicians and media and the numbers they continued to shove down the throats
of America. They tried to point out the
graph that Epidemiologist, Neil Ferguson came up with showing that 2.2 million
Americans would die by April 15th was based on 100% of the population getting
the seasonal virus. They tried to point
out that if people were put under house arrest that businesses would fail. They tried to show that millions of
businesses and jobs would be lost if we didn’t balance out the hypocrisy. These people were labeled as insensitive and
greedy. They were identified as people
who would rather see their grandparent die rather than lose a dollar.
A Pork Filled 2.2 Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package was
passed and the 389 Billion Dollars allocated to small businesses was swallowed
up by big businesses and friends of the big banks. The other 1.8 trillion dollars went to groups
that continue to line the pockets of our politicians.
So what are the facts today?
As of April 23, 2020 the United States has a mortality rate of 47,684
people. The majority of the deaths were
those who were elderly or had underlying health conditions and a few outlier
cases that have been sensationalized by the mainstream media. This still represents .0001445 of the
population. These numbers include the
nearly 4,000 deaths that New York suspected that someone might have had
COVID-19 and added the numbers to the death total. Also reported is that the United States has
had only 849,094 cases although California LA County probably had an additional
442,000 cases that nobody accounted for because they had no or very mild
symptoms. Thus, the virus is real. The virus is contagious. The virus has an even lower death rate than
what the government was telling us. Here
is a number you might want to see. Out
of all of the deaths this year, the Coronavirus represents less than .0026
percent of deaths. As a matter of fact,
today the United States has already had 63,600 deaths before noon.
According to an article published by Fortune today, the real
unemployment rate has soared past 20% with the United States increasing the job
casualties to 26.5 million as another 4.4 million Americans filed unemployment
claims by the end of April 18th.
That is the 5th consecutive month over 3 million jobs being
lost according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
Add the new members of the unemployment with the 7.1 million who were
unemployed prior to March 13th and the total of real unemployment is
33 million or a rate of 20.6% which is the highest level since 1934 when
America was coming out of The Great Depression.
As a reminder, at 25% unemployment, we will be in entering into The 2nd
Great Depression. The first one brought
us the following: homelessness, increased crime rate both violent and
non-violent, child abuse, marital dissolutions, alcohol and drug addiction,
inability to pursue a higher education and death. The death was associated with suicides,
mental health, violent crimes and a lower ability to maintain health. Instead of those who are elderly and have
underlying health conditions, everyone will be effected by The 2nd
Great Depression.
The bright spot is that through adversity, innovation is
born. Many businesses and entities, no
matter how insane regulations and obstacles our government has put in front of
them, have found a way to overcome and provide a living for their family and
the families they employ. To recover or
even avoid being completely shut down, businesses must embrace a technological
transformation in automation as well as trying to provide their message to the
masses gaining a reach to solicit, sell and service their products. In today’s world, businesses now more than
ever must have a digital strategy. Today
it is the Coronavirus, tomorrow it will be something else. Our customers are spending more hours of the
day online shopping, researching or mindless browsing. Now more than ever, all eyes are on social
media.

How to tie your Shoe when the shoelace is Broke
If you were a kid growing up in a middleclass or below
middle class family you probably have a smile on your face right now after
reading the title of this blog. You can
remember the sneakers you once had that were perfectly fine, but as you were
lacing them up just before school while rushing quickly to catch the bus before
it pulled around the corner, the lace broke.
(Those of you that had the Velcro laces were the envy of all of us
because you didn’t have this issue.)
Since your parents bought your shoes a size or two big for growing room,
you had to have the laces tied tight so you would not lose the shoe as you ran
to where you needed to go.
For most of us, this was our first experience of adversity. We would have to take the lace completely out
of the shoe. We would have to even the
lace up and thread it through each of the eyelets (which is the hole that is
meant for threading a cord of a lace) without the aglet/ aiglet (which is a
small sheath made of plastic). Sometimes
we would try to wrap duct tape to make this process easier and other times we
would just lick the end of the lace to create a point for easier navigation. A non-scientific study says that many
business owners were groomed for success because of this adversity.
Fast-forward to 2020.
Through no fault of many small businesses, they are faced with closing
their doors forever. Because of the lack
of leadership at the government level providing misinformation through daily
news conferences, mainstream media creating fear by sensationalizing outlying
stories that are not the norm and big banks squeezing out the true small
businesses by taking care of their larger clients; the small business is left
to do everything they can to keep their business alive.
Although the goal post continue to change as quickly as the
calculations of the future mortality rate of the Coronavirus, the government
restrictions will one day be lifted.
Small businesses will have to make sure they continue to adapt to the
change of rules and society’s new norms.
It will be difficult and many businesses will not be able to survive,
but those that do will look a lot different than they did as little as four
months ago. Those of you who used shoe
polish to whiten up your old shoes will know exactly what I mean by this! (Just make sure you clean the mud off and
don’t try to take a shortcut by polishing over the mud.)
There are several things businesses must do to assure
themselves to recover. (DeliveryMaxx is
in the same boat as you just trying to survive.
When our clients are hurting, we are hurting. If they cannot receive revenue, we do not
receive revenue and that means our employees suffer.) More eyes than ever before are looking at the
internet for information. Your business
must have a complete digital strategy that includes positive Online Reputation, stronger SEO, concise Content Management, increase in Social Media Engagement and Advertisement
and higher Customer Retention. To meet these strategies businesses must use
Blogs, Reviews, Daily Post, Video Messaging, Automated Follow-Up, Email Blast
and Website Development & Optimization.
·
Blogs-
These are written pieces that have the ability to educate the consumer with
facts and supporting documents. Great
stories on how the product or service is being used can validate these
assertions. It is also important to
insert current events into these blogs.
Letting the public know that you know what is going on in the world is
important.
·
Reviews-
Many companies talk about getting a “lot of stars”, but reviews are so much
more than that. The goal is to have
customers mention the product/service, why they visited your business and who
specifically helped them. Have you ever
notices negative reviews state all of these things, but positive reviews might
be a one word or one sentence on why they are happy? Businesses should make it available and easy
for their happy customers to be able to share their complete experience with
the world on multiple platforms. Video
Testimonies should also be part of every businesses digital media
strategy. If we can see a customer truly
happy, then it is more believable. If
you are a business that still pays for “Fake Reviews” customers can see through
this. Number one, those reviews are not
being looked at by the average customer and number two, if you are spending
that much time on “Fake Reviews” your business will never achieve maximum
profitability.
·
Daily
Post- There must be a method behind your post. Are the post engaging to customers? Do they create an emotion that can create a
call to action? If you are paying a
company to put the same post on your sites as every other one of their clients
sites than you are not understanding how daily post work. In addition, you should be putting daily post
on all of your social media sites to make sure you are optimizing the
opportunity to reach additional customers.
Be sure to post on all of your Social Media Sites. However, you will want to make sure they are
optimize driving traffic back to your website.
·
Video
Messaging- There is nothing better than a candid video that talks about
your business or the service you provide.
The most searched videos are “How to Videos”. Everyone utilizes the internet to find
information. If you want people to
search your business, you better have the information they are looking for.
·
Automated
Follow Up- Customer Retention is easier than finding new customers. Your digital strategy should have a
consistent approach to letting the customer know you care. This should also be in a digital format to
allow your customer to easily share the information with all of their friends
and family.
·
Email
Blast- If you have an ad campaign or important information you want to put
into the hands of all of your clients, this is one of the easiest ways to do
it. We don’t recommend to overpopulate
your clients’ inbox, but strategic plans of actions can enhance your digital
media strategy.
·
Website
Development & Optimization- This is your new store front. Since many brick & mortal locations have
been shut down, you must have a great website that is easy to navigate and
ultimately allowing customers to purchase or find information out about your
services. It should be optimized so your
customer can find you.
In addition business should do the following:
·
Network. The more people you meet and learn what they
do the more opportunities you might find that your business can perform.
·
Help
Others. There is nothing better when
a small business identifies an opportunity to help another small business. Look for passing on referrals, using that
business for a need you might have, consider partnering or trading services
with the business. Talk with your
clients as they might be able to help you or vice versa. Look to your competition. Together, you might become stronger or have
ways to help each other during this time.
·
Be
willing to Adapt. Even when the
government runs out of excuses to keep the economy closed, we will never be
able to go back to the way things were.
Be sure your business is adapting to the new ways consumers will be
shopping or interacting with your business.
You will want to make sure you can operate in a digital world.
·
Show
Empathy. Many people believe
everything they have heard on TV. They
are scared of the unknown and instantly feel this virus will kill
everyone. Obviously, this isn’t true,
but don’t blame them for being so naïve.
Realize that they really think one might die just by walking outside if
that is all they have heard the past 3 to 4 months. As frustrating as it might be, don’t yell at
them because they will argue with emotions and not facts. Screaming and yelling will not make them
understand logic any better and only scare them more. Understand that others might have something
that you take for granted, but to them it is a necessity of life.
·

Small Businesses cannot rely on help but they can make a difference for others
When someone talks about a small business they usually think
of the local shop that has the whole family working to put food on the
table. However, a small business depending
on the industry can be defined as a business with a maximum of 500
employees. They are privately owned
corporations, partnerships or sole proprietorships that have less revenue than
larger businesses. Small businesses
account for more than half of the private GDP and the private sector
employment. The top job provider in the United States is those companies with fewer
than ten employees and those with ten or more but fewer than 20 employees
comes in second when it comes to the labor force of the United States.
During the overhyped Coronavirus that has scared millions of
Americans by our politicians and mainstream media a 2.2 TRILLION PORK FILLED STIMULUS PACKAGE was passed to ease
people’s fear and not question the asinine decisions that continue to be
made. Throughout this package, schools
with billion dollar endowments, our congress, Indian reservations, community
art centers, refuges from other countries have all received billions of tax
payer dollars that was intended for small businesses to keep their doors open
and their employees on staff until we could return back to some normalcy.
Many small businesses did not get funding before the Payroll Protection Program hit its
$349b limit last week. It capped out because of large public companies taking
large chunks of money out of a program that was not intended for them. The
program was not intended for them because public companies have better staying
power and alternative means of funding that small businesses do not. Meanwhile
the small businesses continue to suffer.
Click
on this link to see the largest public companies taking payroll loans meant for
small businesses. Several of the
companies have market values well in excess of $100 million, including DMC
Global, Wave Life Sciences and Fiesta Restaurant Group. In full disclosure, DeliveryMaxx has been a client
of Wells Fargo, and was one of the small companies that they squeezed out from
getting any of the funding to help keep their doors open.
However, don’t let your local politicians off the hook. President Trump passed the buck to the
Governors. The Governors past the buck
to the County Judges and the County Judges who don’t even have to have a formal
education to rule have made decisions based on an Epidemiologist Neil
Ferguson’s Graph that said 2.2 million Americans would die by April 15th. Of course he based that on 100% of the world
would get the virus and it was very deadly.
Facts have not ever and still do not support these claims as he has now
revised his predictions to a lower 60,000 Americans. Even
the weatherman have not been this wrong in the past.
DeliveryMaxx understands this all too well. Founder James Schaefer, developed the
Patent-Pending program just over 10 years ago creating an innovative way for
companies to easily spread their message to the masses utilizing a mobile
app. He created this company without
government loans or private investments.
Utilizing his personal savings, he has poured in millions over the last
decade to create a program that will help anyone needing exposure on the web. In every sense of the word, DeliveryMaxx is a
small business with clients in multiple industries and across the country such
as Automotive Dealerships, Real-Estate Brokers & Agents, Churches, Service
Industry, Sports Teams, Non-Profit Organizations and more; utilizing the
Patent-Pending customized social media marketing program to implement a digital
strategy that will meet the needs of sales, service and messaging to the
masses.
For businesses that are in the same boat as DeliveryMaxx
(companies that are trying to survive), you must be willing to see and adapt to
today’s environment. That means with
more eyes than ever before looking at the internet for information, your
business must have a complete digital strategy that includes positive Online Reputation, stronger SEO, concise Content Management, increase in Social Media Engagement and Advertisement
and higher Customer Retention. To meet these strategies businesses must use
Blogs, Reviews, Daily Post, Video Messaging, Automated Follow-Up, Email Blast
