Using the Internet to Spread your Message

Finding information on the internet has never been more important than it is now.  Getting your message published is vital for your business, non-profit and any other entity that desires a certain amount of reach on the World Wide Web.

Today, more users/consumers are viewing the internet to get the majority of their information.  No matter which side of the fence you are on in any issue; one will be able to find information to support their position.  This is important for businesses now more than ever.  They must have a digital media strategy that includes a well-built website, optimized social media channels directing viewers back to the website, daily post on the social media channels, videos promoting their message, blogs written to highlight their products or services, a positive online reputation and social media engagement from their customers or fans.  Having the right digital media strategy will be vital for businesses to operate in our current climate.

Take for example the debate over which lives are more important during the Coronavirus.  One side of the debate says the other side is insensitive to those with underlying health conditions and elderly.  They think their opposition only cares about money.  The other side of the debate says, unfortunately, the inevitable does happen whether it is the seasonal flu, cancer, automotive accidents or a new virus like H1N1, Ebola and yes the Coronavirus.  Bad things happen to good people and shutting down the economy will have much longer devastating effects on people’s lives including the health of and well-being of many healthy people is a position some have also taken.

We have seen individuals taking to the internet telling the public how quickly the virus will kill anyone, citing that they are a health care professional even if their job description includes mopping the floors or answering phones at a hospital. The uninform see the influencer saying they are a health care professional and many times don’t give another thought to the post taking the position as facts.  When in all reality, the Epidemiologist behind the highly cited Coronavirus model drastically downgrading the projections.  Neil Ferguson, the Epidemiologist in question projected 2.2 million dead in the United States if no action were taken to slow the virus and blunt its curve.  He said over 500,000 people in the United Kingdom would die.  After just one day of lockdowns in the U.K, Ferguson drastically downgraded those estimates revealing that far more people likely have the virus than his team originally figured.   A higher rate of transmission than expected means that more people have the virus than previously expected; when the number of those with coronavirus is divided by the number of deaths, therefore, the mortality rate for the disease drops.  Therefore, now the epidemiologist predicts hospitals will be just fine taking on COVID-19 patients and estimates far fewer people will die from the virus itself or from its agitation of other ailments.  By the way, to get to the 2.2 million number he first predicted, the United States would have had to have 6,027 people die a day.  Currently we have had 1,382 deaths.

Last year, Texas had 9,470 deaths from the flue which was considered one of the worst season in years.  More than 800 of those deaths occurred in Bexar County alone where 802 adults and two children died from the flu or related complications.  The death rate was 32.25 per every 100,000 people.  The region that includes Dallas had the most deaths at 2,737.  Over half of the deceased were children who had an underlying condition.  In comparison, the Coronavirus has an average mortality rate of 4 people for every 1 million.

Our politicians at the National, State and Local level have been all over the place in ordering lockdowns, threatening heavy fines and deciding which businesses are essential to work and which one’s need to depend on the government to help them.  Apparently, the military, police force, health care workers, government officials, Costco Workers, Big Box Stores and all of the “Essential Employees” are immune from spreading the virus to the rest of those who have been ordered to stay home.  Many of those taking to the internet telling everyone to stay home still have the ability to receive a paycheck.  The media (which has been declared as essential) understands this and continues to sensationalize stories without providing all of the facts.  Stories like a 92 year old man who died due to the Coronavirus and other ailments.  Other stories like Tom Hanks and his wife who got sick, but is now doing just fine.

We also see individuals who carelessly go to Florida on Spring Break and will inevitably get sick continuing the spread of the virus or anything else they contract during a drunken party.  Just ask the social media influencer who thought it was smart to lick a toilet and is now sick with COVID-19.

Our elected officials are another great example of how they are utilizing the internet to get their message across.  Both parties, Democrats and Republicans, have used public fear to try to pass a stimulus package to appease the millions who will be in the unemployment lines like the 3.3 million individuals in New York.

Before you look at the merits of what is in the stimulus package, think to yourself if it makes sense to borrow $3,400 to help with your personal expenses and have to personally pay back $24,400 in the form of taxes to help fund our political leaders special interest and pork spending that will never go to the American Family who needs help to put food on the table for their family.  Walk through this example with me.

Nine hundred ninety nine billion, nine hundred ninety nine million, nine hundred ninety nine thousand, nine hundred ninety nine dollars and ninety nine cents is one penny short of a Trillion Dollars!  Now double that number and add another $200 Billion Dollars to it.  That is the package our Congress is about to pass.  Divide that number out by the current population of the United States and that comes out to $6,100 per man, woman, child that will have to pay it back in their lifetime.  That means for a family of 4; they would have to pay back $24,400 and only receive $3,400 ($1200 for two adults and $500 apiece for two children in a family of 4).  Think about this for a minute.  The stimulus package has provisions like:

  • ·         $150 Million for Federal Grants to State and Local Arts and Humanities Programs
  • ·         $75 Million for Corporation for Public Broadcasting
  • ·         $25 Million for Washington, D.C., Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
  • ·         $75 Million for the National Endowment for the Arts
  • ·         $93 Million to Congress
  • ·         $25 Million for the House for teleworking and “other cost”
  • ·         $10 Million for Senate for teleworking and “other cost”
  • ·         $25 Million for cleaning the Capitol and congressional office buildings
  • ·         $14 Billion for Universities and Colleges
  • ·         $25 Billion for Public Transit Systems
  • ·         $10 Billion for Publicly owned Commercial Airports
  • ·         $1 Billion for Amtrak
  • ·         $300 Million for Fishing Industry
  • ·         $400 Million to help states prepare for 2020 elections with steps to include expanded vote by mail and additional polling locations
  • ·         $2 Billion for health care, equipment schools and other needs for Native American Communities
  • ·         $258 Million for international disaster assistance
  • ·         $350 Million for Migration and Refugee Assistance
  • ·         $95 Million for USAID operating expenses
  • ·         $88 Million for the Peace Corps

Nobody wants to have family members or loved ones die.  Nobody wants anyone to experience the hardship of losing jobs.  The facts remain that both tragedies are going to happen in our “normal” course of living.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that over 28 million people a year will lose their jobs. The unemployment rate has been around 3.5% over the last 6 months.  James Bullard, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis said that the U.S. unemployment rate could reach 30% while Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin estimates that it might reach 20%.  Either way, unemployment leads to health issues (depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and mental health issues), economic issues (burden of increase debt falls to government) and social issues (crime rates increase).

According to the Centers for Disease and Control the United States has a death rate of 863.8 deaths per 100,000 population.  Our life expectancy is 78.6 years.  The infant mortality rate is 5.78 deaths per 1,000 live births.

Each year, 647,457 die from heart disease, 599,108 die from cancer, 169,936 die from accidents (unintentional injuries), 160,201 die from chronic lower respiratory diseases, 146,383 die from strokes, 121,404 die from Alzheimer’s, 83,564 die from diabetes, 55,672 die from influenza and pneumonia, 50,633 die from nephritis and 47,173 will commit suicide.

The American People will remain divided on all of the issues discussed.  Today, social media has given everyone a platform to share their opinion.  Whether you make a comment, post a picture/video, LIKE, Share, retweet or put some type of emoji on a post you are sharing your opinion.  Because we feel safe behind a keyboard or our face buried in our phones; we feel empowered that others truly value what we have to say.  Google Reviews, Yelp and Facebook have all made millions on this concept as the consumer will instantly take to giving their Online Review.

Now more than ever, all eyes are on social media.  As a matter of fact, 66% of social media users believe their social media usage habit will increase in the event they are confined to their home due to the Coronavirus.  Over 60% of both YouTube and Facebook users expect an increase while only 2% expect a decrease.

Which Side of History Will You Be on after the Coronavirus is over?

Have you seen the GIF of the man who was given a choice as he was being quarantined during the Coronavirus?  Of course you have.  As a recap, the narrator gave the man a choice between - A - you can be quarantine with his wife and child or - B – and before he the narrator could state the second choice, the man answered B with authority!  How many Coronavirus Memes have you seen which reference toilet paper?  It’s Okay.  This blog is a “Safe Place” for those of you who went out and bought extra rolls or overpaid for single ply.  I actually had a good friend who brought me a roll.  Maybe my wife shared some private details, and my friend wanted to make sure my family was safe during the quarantine.

Make no mistake, this Coronavirus has serious consequences.  Yesterday, I scrolled through Facebook and saw a message from one of my old college fraternity brothers who posted, “If you don't think what's going on is serious that's on you and it's your choice... if I get this virus, the next time you will be seeing me, is at my funeral! Point blank no questions asked not being dramatic or looking for empathy or sympathy... I currently take immunosuppressant in the morning then again at night. My immune system is intentionally in a weakened state. I am in the highest risk level! This time unlike cancer there will be no coming back because at least with cancer there was a protocol, not so much with Covid-19... while I'm doing my part I ask you do yours.”  Because of the business I am in; each day I am talking with clients who have to lay off or furlough employees due to their business being declared nonessential or even worse closing their doors.  This doesn’t just effect the business owner.  It actually hurts the workers who need their job to support their family.  It hurts the vendors who need clients to keep their doors open.  Depression already affects 20-25% of Americans of working age and according to CDC and WHO approximately 123 Americans die by suicide each day.  This crisis will potentially add to those numbers.

There are countless of mixed messages being stated on the internet.  County Judges across Texas have used their authority to put a “Shelter in Place” for many areas while others have allowed the citizens to police themselves highly encouraging them to stay isolated.  The mom and pop antique business was told to shut down while the Big Box electronics store is allowed to stay open.  Gas stations and liquor stores are allowed to sell their products while churches and restaurants cannot serve in their normal capacity.  Each day we see breaking news of a politician standing at a podium with several other officials next to them while 10-50 of the news media reports on them saying that everyone should stay at home.  We still have Democrats and Republicans trying to blame each other for the outbreak and even trying to “one up” the other on how to ease the angst this is causing.  In short, good friends, family members, colleagues, business partners and others, all with good intentions, have disagreed on the response to how we can solve this crisis.

Let’s be clear on one thing.  If One person (and at the time of this blog 1037 people have died from this virus) dies that is too many.

That being said, this crisis will pass.  There is discrepancy on how long it will take and what measures will need to be put in place to help the millions of Americans who are affected directly or indirectly by the virus.  My prediction is the CDC will have to tackle the obesity epidemic next since we are all staying at home and probably not rationing our food.  Some people look at a Coronavirus chart every day.  My kids have a chart that identifies how many Oreo Cookies I devour and even created a point of no return!  That’s a scary graph!

Back to my first paragraph on the GIF and Meme.  You might be one who is worried about who might get sick and upset at those who are still able to work and not holding true to “social distancing.”  You might be one who is worried about the lasting effects of the economy or one who thinks that economist are being too callous in their fear of the ramifications of how the virus will negatively affect our society.  No matter which side of the debate you are on; everyone has seen the depictions of how many are reacting at this time.  Thankfully, many of these bring humor in a time of fear and the unknown.  The reason we can all think of our favorite GIF or Meme is we have increased the amount of time we spend on Social Media.  My favorite post since I am a Texas Rangers Baseball fan was talking about players on the Houston Astros not testing positive for Covid-19 because they all saw the sings early.  Wish we were back in those days when that was the biggest debate in the country!

Several states across the Nation have already implemented this strategy to contain the virus spread.  Over 60% of both YouTube and Facebook users expect an increase while only 2% expect a decrease.

Some key statistics for how Coronavirus impacts E-Commerce include: 99% of social media users believe there is a chance they will purchase something online if they are confined to their home during a Coronavirus outbreak, 92% of consumers who have “a great deal of say” on purchasing decisions believe they will purchase grocery store items online (versus in-store) during confinement, 79% of consumers with children ages 3-17 at home believe they may purchase home improvement or DIY items online while confined to home and 76% of consumers who have a “great deal of say” on purchasing decisions believe they will order restaurant food delivery online.

There is no question that as more consumers are confined to their home, there will be a significant surge of social media content and consumption.  That surge will present an increased opportunity for brands to connect with an audience that is hungry for content, education, and online social experiences.  Brands will see their marketing dollars go further than they have in recent years and certain sectors stand to benefit greatly from these marketing savings.

History will judge your business on how you adapt to the surge in social media consumption as it unfolds.

DeliveryMaxx has been the leader in this arena over the last decade and continues to help businesses in all sectors reach their potential customers through the most innovative digital strategy utilizing common sense and today’s technology.  Our clients experience positive Online Reputation, stronger SEO, concise content management, increase in social media engagement and advertisement and higher customer retention.  We are able to customize and create a strategy for any entity that is trying to gain more exposure on the web.  With clients in multiple industries and across the country such as Automotive Dealerships, Real-Estate Brokers & Agents, Churches, Service Industry, Sports Teams, Non-Profit Organizations and more; we utilize our Patent-Pending Program to develop a digital strategy that will meet the needs of sales, service and messaging to the masses.  DeliveryMaxx is one of the only digital media company that provides a simple to use app which will allow to immediately collect online reviews, post engaging videos and online content with branding and advertising.  The program is embedded with digital code helping increase SEO which provides first page results on the Search Engines.  It is a tool that is implanted with a complete digital strategy giving their clients a competitive advantage over the competition.  For more information about DeliveryMaxx contact (888) 938-6299 or watch the DeliveryMaxx Introduction Video!

Starting a New Business in the Corona Climate

Twelve years ago, DeliveryMaxx was started without government funds or any other financial assistance in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, The Great Recession of 2007-2009.  Today, DeliveryMaxx is a digital media company with a Patent-Pending program that creates a comprehensive strategy allowing its clients to improve SEO, Online Reputation, Social Media Marketing/Advertising and Engagement, Content Management and Customer Retention all utilizing a mobile app.  In short, DMAXX as it is known to its clients creates a plan to turn their normal course of daily actions into marketing and advertising opportunities.  The app was created to minimize cost and allow clients to instantly gain a larger audience sharing their message on the World Wide Web thus increasing sales and/or service.  DeliveryMaxx utilizes positive reviews, daily post for engagement, blogs and video messaging to reach every facet of clients’ potential customers. Not to mention, the program is very simple and easy to use and gives the appearance that clients have a larger marketing department than what they really do.  The best part about the program is that the clients’ customers feel valued and are more incline to spread these positive messages through the digital media channels better known as social media.

However, DeliveryMaxx didn’t have an easy road.  When first developed in 2008, the program depended on Kodak digital cameras which had a special function of labeling photos of happy customers and the ability to quickly produce marketing materials.  The iPhone was in its infancy.  Quickly, DeliveryMaxx had to adapt to the emerging technology of online reviews and a relatively new concept of Search Engine Optimization.  Over the last decade, DeliveryMaxx has spent millions in research and development to create a program that accomplishes businesses, non-profits and others needs’ in all areas covered in the digital media arena.

Like any startup, DeliveryMaxx was faced with operational challenges including labor and other expenses.  The first turn towards positive success was to utilize the same program that was pitched to clients.  Proper execution allowing the internet to do all of the heavy lifting led to increased client acquisition and management.
The United States has been ordered to come to a complete stop if a business is not deemed essential.  Many consumers are afraid to leave the house and the ones that do have started to come up with creative ways to cover their mouths utilizing plastic bottles, fruit peelings, diapers and other interesting contraptions.  There is still no answer as to why everyone made an instant run towards the toilet paper.  Nonetheless, many people will be out of a job and have to find something new to do.  Either their company will have to lay off employees to minimize labor cost or many businesses will just shut the door forever.  A small stimulus check will not be enough to help a family of four and the government will be at a loss of additional tax revenue that it won’t be able to sustain the economy.  The only thing that will get the US out of this mess is that businesses are rebuilt or started from scratch.  These businesses will need to find the most cost effective way to get their message out to the masses in order to create and ultimately increase sales.

History shows us that the Great Recession of 2007-2009 was created by overextended credit and risky mortgages which resulted in a housing market crash and the failure of several investment banks.  The 1981 recession was due to rising inflation from the 1970’s which resulted in tightened monetary policy from the Federal Reserve, while regime change in Iran led to rising oil prices. Amid these crosscurrents, the U.S. found itself with falling inflation but rising unemployment by the early 1980s.  Many of our senior population can vividly remember the 1973 recession which lasted about 2 years because of quadrupling oil prices by Arab exporters resulted in stagflation (high inflation amid stagnant economic growth) and a stock market crash.  Although, you would have to be 91 years old to have lived through The Great Depression, we have all learned about this in school.  After a six-year bull market on Wall Street, over-speculation led to an October 1929 stock market crash. Economic production fell by 50 percent, and unemployment surged to 25 percent.

Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”  Make no mistake, we will be in a recession that will take a minimum of 2 years to recover.  If our government leaders on both sides of the aisle pander to the special interest groups without caring for “We the People” we will potentially create the 2nd Great Depression.

Nobody would have ever thought a virus that has over an 85% recovery rate would crash our economy and end up putting so many people out of work.  Unfortunately, that presents many people with two options.  Quit or as our grandfathers used to say, “Pull up your bootstraps and get to work.”  There are many who would like to do this and as soon as the quarantine is lifted will do just that.

Adversity, it can break you or make you if you let it, the choice is yours.

In 1929, amid the Great Depression the notorious year that the stock market crashed, spurring a 10-year global downturn, also marked the birth of an aerospace giant. United Aircraft and Transport Corporation began life as a holding company for airlines, airplane parts manufacturers and aviation companies such as Boeing.

Most industries floundered under the financial crisis, but the Golden Age of Aviation was in full swing and kept United Aircraft aloft. In fact, the company pulled so many other businesses under its umbrella during its initial years that it quickly smacked up against antitrust laws. In 1934, Boeing and United Airlines became separate companies and United Aircraft turned into what is now UTC, a diversified industrial manufacturer.  By 2008, UTC reported $58.7 billion in revenue.

FedEx was born when Frederick W. Smith identified a pressing business need of important documents had to reach their destinations within one or two days. He incorporated a company called Federal Express in June 1971 and began operations in 1973 from Memphis International Airport. On its first night, in April, FedEx shipped 186 packages to 25 U.S. cities.  However, all was not well on the international front, and within months, several Arab states had embargoed oil exports to the United States. While this news could have been disastrous for a company that relied on petroleum-fueled transportation, Federal Express stayed alive and became profitable in July 1975, when oil prices finally leveled off.

The Applebee's chain was founded by Bill and T. J. Palmer in 1980. The vision that they wanted was "to create a restaurant that had a neighborhood pub feel to it and could offer friendly service along with quality fare at a lower price than most of their competition."  Also, Fuddruckers created a couple of years prior in 1979 by Philip J. Romano developed a concept to offer large hamburgers in which the meat is ground on-site and buns are baked on the premises.

Through adversity entrepreneurs find the strength they never knew they had.  Today’s economic climate is rather depressing if we continue to let the media dictate how we are supposed to feel.  For those looking for a silver lining is that a business (hopefully thousands) will be born and when we face another inevitable crisis, we can update this report with Businesses Created during the Corona Depression.

DeliveryMaxx is in the same boat as many of our clients and other businesses around the country.  We are facing difficult decisions that include temporary layoffs, reduction of expenses, increased workload from employees and reduced pay due to lack of revenue.  However, with our suite of digital services, DeliveryMaxx is able to help clients make an impact on the internet including Online Reputation, Social Media Marketing and Advertising, Content Management, SEO, Website Development, Customer Retention Satisfaction and other Digital Media Strategies giving them a stronger reach which means more sales and services provided.

DeliveryMaxx is able to customize and create a strategy for businesses, churches and any entity that is trying to gain more exposure on the web.  With clients in multiple industries and across the country; we utilize our Patent-Pending Program to develop a digital strategy that will meet the needs of sales, service and messaging to the masses.  We are one of the only digital media company that provides a simple to use app which will allow to immediately collect online reviews, post engaging videos and online content with branding and advertising.

Your Business is Nonessential… Now What?

As we received mixed messages from municipal government officials dictating what business is essential and what business is not during the coronavirus scare; many lives are being upended.  Unfortunately, many businesses do not feel like they have a voice nor the means to continue to pay expenses.

This is NOT a political blog nor is this intended to minimize the severity of the virus and its potential effects on our population.  This is intended to provide assistance to businesses who continue to have lease payments, payroll and other expenditures that will not go away.  It is also intended to provide a common voice for those who are faced with the facts that they will shut down their doors over the next 30 days and never be able to open again.

DeliveryMaxx, a small business that specializes in Online Reputation, Social Media Marketing and Advertising, Content Management, SEO, Website Development, Customer Retention Satisfaction and other Digital Media Strategies was created in 2008 without government loans and other financial assistance.  Over the last 12 years we developed a Patent-Pending program that helps our clients increasing Positive Reviews, Strong SEO, and a digital strategy that will take client’s current business model giving them a stronger reach on the internet which means more sales and services provided.  Being a small business, DeliveryMaxx has provided jobs for those who have worked for the company and other vendors who have provided services for the company.  A stimulus package will not help
DeliveryMaxx and many of the clients that we serve.  This story is quite common across the country.
I don’t know anyone who has tested positive much less tested positive and is critical condition or dying from the Coronavirus.  I hope this is the norm and not an exception.  My heart goes out to them and their family and I would not wish this heartache on anyone.  This is not me being insensitive to others health as I do care.  Personally, I have parents and in-laws who are elderly and one who cannot receive treatments for brain cancer because of the shutdown.  I have relatives and friends who have underlying health conditions and are vulnerable to getting sick.  In addition, I do know three clients stories (and a 187 employees that work for those clients) that the virus has negatively affected and these stories will continue if either our government doesn’t act appropriately or businesses don’t take necessary steps to adapt in this climate.

The first is a very popular restaurant that had to lay off all of its employees and shut their doors.  If the mandatory lockdown happens longer than a month or two; they will not be able to open again.  This will leave a vacancy in the location they reside.  The owners still have mortgages and car payments they have to pay.  The vendors that serve them will not be able to collect due to a lack of revenue.  The single mothers who work for the business have no income coming in and will now have to depend on the government for assistance.  The young couple that worked who were planning on getting married next month now are rethinking how they can even afford to start a life together.

The second business that my heart goes out to is one of the most ethical foundation companies in North Texas.  The owner has been a pillar in the community his entire life donating tens of thousands to the Child Advocacy Group.  For the last 35 years he has given employees jobs who walked in without a car and a dollar to their name just because he had empathy for their situation.  He has employees who are the sole provider for their family, retired workers who are supplementing their income to provide food on the table and part-time workers who are earning a little extra income to pay bills and support their family.  He has purchased equipment to do upcoming jobs, but because of certain city’s regulations he cannot complete those jobs thus enabling him to make payroll.  Not to mention, his personal expenses to live.

Finally, a third business deals in selling and servicing printing and copiers.  Their clients include large businesses, churches, small businesses and any company that needs to print or copy documents.  Because of the shutdown, there is no need to service this equipment and therefore they have had to lay off all of the employees who no longer can provide a service.  Because businesses are shutdown, sales people cannot sell and now have a loss of income.  Attorneys, accountants and other vendors now experience that loss of revenue.

Currently there are many opinions, statistics and numbers being thrown around in today’s media.  The media has to sell advertisement based on viewership so the most sensational stories get publicized.  The medical profession who is on the frontlines are seeing the sick on a daily basis, so all they know is what they are seeing inside their world (and I can only imagine how scary it is).  Politicians are seeing which way the wind is blowing and forming their opinions based on what they think will get them the most votes.  We, the people, are getting so much information that we don’t know what is factual and what is not.

What is happening is the small business is being destroyed and real families are becoming victims of the coronavirus without ever getting sick.

What’s the right answer?  I don’t know.  I am an expert at providing a program that allows businesses to get their message out via the World Wide Web through innovative digital strategies.  My opinion is no different than the nurse who shares their opinion because of the victims they continues to see.  We have the Democrats and Republicans trying to blame each other and put pork inside a stimulus package that will not help most of us.  We have some judges trying to shut down their city while other mayors are saying everyone is important.  The businesses that have put their life savings into their company have also taken huge losses in the stock market.  People like me wouldn’t be able to sell our house to save our business because few will be buying in this market.  Therefore the equity we have has been diminished.

This will pass.  America as we know it might not be the same again.  However, the United States was founded on common sense principles and still provides everyone the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  As long as our Constitution does not change, people will be able create new small businesses even in these difficult times.

So what can businesses do to survive if they have been deemed nonessential?  First and foremost, they must streamline their expenses and unfortunately that means eliminating employees.  My 18 year old son was a casualty in his part-time job that he was using to save money to attend college.  Second, with the increase in viewership on social media; they must have a complete digital strategy to consistently get their message out to the masses.  They may have to do a paradigm shift and increase their e-commerce business.  The positive by going digital is the cost can be drastically reduced by partnering with a company such as DeliveryMaxx.

Times are tough and DeliveryMaxx is here to provide vital services for the victims who have businesses which are necessary to provide food, shelter and transportation to their employees.  Our prayers continue for all of those affected by the virus and hope that those who actually get sick are quickly cured.

In today’s world, businesses now more than ever must have a digital strategy.  Today it is the Coronavirus, tomorrow it will be something else.  Our customers are spending more hours of the day online shopping, researching or mindless browsing.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the coronavirus, but also out to all of the businesses that will be adversely affected by potential customers isolating themselves indoors.  We will develop a custom plan for each business that allows them to compete in today’s marketplace.

With its Patent-Pending Digital Marketing Solutions; DeliveryMaxx is the only digital media company that provides a simple to use app which will allow to immediately collect online reviews, post engaging videos and online content with branding and advertising.

How Businesses can Survive the Coronavirus Shutdown

Every day we continue to get mixed messages sent to us by our government and the medical profession.  The short answer is nobody really has the exact answer and much less a solution to help.  Everything is pure speculation and the fear of the unknown is controlling our actions.  The one thing that you know is you must develop, implement and perfectly execute the right processes to assure your business’ success.

However, businesses still have rent, cost of goods, unsold inventory and other expenses that will continue despite the national shutdown.  Businesses will try to cut cost ultimately eliminating their labor cost.  The sad part is that everyone knows about the billion dollar companies, but the faces of our community business do not have strong advocates to speak for them on their behalf.

DeliveryMaxx understands this all too well.  Founder James Schaefer, developed the Patent-Pending program just over 10 years ago creating an innovative way for companies to easily spread their message to the masses utilizing a mobile app.  He created this company without government loans or private investments.  Utilizing his personal savings, he has poured in millions over the last decade to create a program that will help anyone needing exposure on the web.

Now more than ever, all eyes are on social media.  As a matter of fact, 66% of social media users believe their social media usage habit will increase in the event they are confined to their home due to the Coronavirus.

Don’t get left behind in reaching your market as your competition will react relatively quickly to the changing environment and adjust their overall campaign spending to reflect the surge in social media consumption as it unfolds.

There is a “New Normal” that is developing.

Coronavirus Exposes Need for Online Digital Strategy More than Ever

You would have to be living in a cave not to know that everyone in the world is talking about the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  No matter what your position is on whether you feel people are overreacting and buying up all of the toilet paper for a flu-like cold or if you think this is the next Bubonic plague that will change the world as we know it; all of the actions today we are taking today will affect aspects of your business..

Now more than ever- it is important for your business to have an online strategy that can withstand the mass hysteria and media’s recommendation to quarantine oneself from the public to avoid catching the virus.  Even though the masses are avoiding civilization, internet usage is at an all-time high and that means your message needs to gain maximum exposure!
DeliveryMaxx has the cure!  With our Patent-Pending digital media strategy, clients will be able to share with the world why their customers should patronize their business (even online sales) and let the world know they have the goods to keep life going as we know it.  Our strategy can be implemented in the virtual arena of technology and includes Online Reputation Management, Social Media Marketing, Customer Satisfaction and Retention, Social Media Engagement and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

We have provided this for over the last decade for businesses in the automotive, real estate, construction, retail, food and hospitality, medical, entertainment, non-profit, sports and church industries.  The bottom line is that our clients are able to turn what they do on a daily basis into a digital media strategy that helps them gain positive reviews, social media engagement, strong SEO and happy customers that are willing to share their great experiences with all of their friends and family… Your Potential Customers.  This has led to more sales, higher customer satisfaction scores, repeat business and more digital content on the internet giving you maximum exposure.

The Coronavirus may or may not be blown out of proportion.  That is for you to decide.

As of March 13, 2020, the Coronavirus has 1663 reported cases and 40 deaths in the United States.  Over 99% of the cases have an unfavorable affect on individuals with underlining heath conditions and/or those who are over 50 years old.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there have been nearly 128,000 cases confirmed with 4720 deaths.  Not to diminish these facts, but according to the Center of Disease and Control over 56,000 people die from the flu or flu-like illness each year in the United States.  In addition, nearly 1.25 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day.

Make no mistake about the media coverage of this virus.  It has caused major panic much like someone hollering “FIRE” in a crowded movie theatre.  (Of course you could do that now and nobody would be there to hear you.)  This scare will negatively impact all businesses especially small businesses.

“In today’s world, businesses now more than ever must have a digital strategy.  Today it is the Coronavirus, tomorrow it will be something else.  Our customers are spending more hours of the day online shopping, researching or mindless browsing.  If a business doesn’t have a specific plan of action utilizing the internet; they will leave dollars on the table.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the coronavirus, but also out to all of the businesses that will be adversely affected by potential customers isolating themselves indoors.  We will develop a custom plan for each business that allows them to compete in today’s marketplace” states, James Schaefer, Founder of DeliveryMaxx.

You must have a plan of action.  To avoid losing the gains you have made over the past several years, your digital marketing strategy must be vigilant to withstand the lack of foot traffic.  DeliveryMaxx is your answer to help you continue to make gains into additional market share and achieve maximum exposure on the internet.

With its Patent-Pending Digital Marketing Solutions; DeliveryMaxx is the only digital media company that provides a simple to use app which will allow to immediately collect online reviews, post engaging videos and online content with branding and advertising.

Meet James Schaefer of DeliveryMaxx in Rockwall

personal_photo-504
Today we’d like to introduce you to James Schaefer.

James, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.

Every great idea is born out of need. DeliveryMaxx was founded on providing automotive dealerships an opportunity to retain their customers. However, social media marketing and online reputation quickly became the norm and DeliveryMaxx had to adapt.

We created a Patent-Pending mobile application that allows all companies, organizations, and people (anyone that needs more exposure on the internet) improve their Online Reputation, Social Media Engagement, Search Engine Optimization and Content Management. In addition to automotive dealerships, DeliveryMaxx increased its client base to Real Estate Agents, Churches, Youth Sports Teams, Authors, Attorneys, Doctors, Radio Shows, Gun Clubs and more. “There has never been a client we cannot help. We are able to customize our program that will provide our clients a complete digital marketing strategy for a fraction of what they would pay one person or multiple vendors” states, Founder, James Schaefer.

Has it been a smooth road?

DeliveryMaxx was started in 2009 which the economy was going through one of the worst recessions in history. There were days, I did not know if we would be able to sustain a viable business. I laugh now, but one day my son came home and wanted to watch the World Series. He didn’t know that I had cut off the cable to save money as the business was growing. He had to listen to it with his buddy on the radio! My wife used to call my company DebtMaxx! Luckily, I was able to become cash flow positive in less than 6 months. Now making a profit took a little longer, but it was relatively quicker than most technology companies.

When we first started, DeliveryMaxx wasn’t what it is today. We focused on automotive dealerships customer retention. There was nothing innovative about what we do. Because of the markets demand, we quickly moved into digital marketing and advertising, but we include SEO, Online Reputation, Social Media Engagement and Content Management all using a mobile app.

Because DeliveryMaxx is the first to be able to do what we can do; many businesses don’t understand the complexity of how we are able to produce results. We really are in unchartered territory. However, we use common sense business principles with today’s technology and as we earn the trust of our clients; strong relationships are established.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the DeliveryMaxx story. Tell us more about the business.

DeliveryMaxx has Patent-Pending Technology (9 million lines of code) that allows businesses/organizations create maximum exposure on the internet. When Digital Marketing is done right, there is a strategy that is involved. Digital Marketing includes SEO, Online Reputation, Content Management, Social Media Engagement & Marketing and they must all work together to produce the results our clients are looking for. Each client has a different need. Some want to build their reputation in the industry, others want to increase sales or customer satisfaction and we have some that are trying to gain national exposure. Therefore DeliveryMaxx is able to customize a program for each client. Our mobile app makes it very simple to create the content that produces these results. The way DeliveryMaxx was built in the very beginning allows us to continue to grow with our clients. We can keep cost at a minimal because DeliveryMaxx does not have huge overhead.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?

The largest shift I see is AI technology which is very fascinating. Pretty soon it will be a common thing to walk into a grocery store or your local convenient store and a sign welcomes you and points you in the direction of the items you desire. Within 10 years, this will be the norm and I suspect it will move a lot faster than that. We already have the technology. This will change the playing field and require traditional marketing to utilize advance technology or get left behind.

How to Create Good Press using the Internet

For years, businesses have sought out traditional forms of media such as television commercials, newspaper ads and radio spots to influence consumers with products and services.  With the introduction of new media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media sites; anyone or business can produce a story which rapidly circulates across the World Wide Web.  With the ease and availability of a medium which can deliver ideals into the intended recipients’ hands businesses would be wise to take advantage of this technology.

However, with the ease of communication should come great caution as the perception of reality quickly becomes reality.  Online reputation sites such as Google Reviews, Yelp and others are a constant reminder and act as a digital report card.  Thus again, by providing superb product and/or services an entity can expect a positive evaluation.  Although most businesses strive to please their customers, many of the online reviews which are published don’t reflect the true principles of the company.

Marketers and media experts alike continue to preach the value of utilizing social media, online reputation, and publishing content.  The prevailing opinions are correct, but sometimes the advice does provide solutions that meet their needs rather the advice is heavy on advertising on new media the same way businesses used to advertise on traditional media.

The first thing businesses must realize is that new media, often referred to as social media, is much different than traditional media.  A good analogy would be to consider a time when you were talking with a group of friends at a gathering, if a car sales person (insert any sales person) were to interrupt your story; how would that make you feel? It’s pretty simple.  You would not appreciate it no matter how great the deal or sales pitch was.  This is what many businesses try to do on social media.  They interrupt your news feed with advertisement that the consumer does not want to see.

Now, it is no secret.  Everyone is on social media today and cell phones have increased this activity by thousands of percent.  Thus, in order for businesses and marketers to increase their reach; they cannot abandoned social media and review sites.  However, they have to create a great strategy to allow their message to be seen without rudely shoving this message down a virtual throat.  If only there was a way that companies could get their customers to share their great experiences with all of their friends and family.

DeliveryMaxx has created a patent-pending solution that allows any entity to make it easy and desirable for the consumer to share their wonderful experience.  It’s very simple and doesn’t interfere with the normal sales or service process of the company.  In fact, companies that implement the DeliveryMaxx solution see a positive change in culture and have the ability to meet the demands of Social Media Marketing, Online Reputation and Content Management.  For more information on how DeliveryMaxx can customize a program for your company contact us at www.deliverymaxx.com or call 888.936.6299.

RETENTION RETENTION RETENTION

shutterstock_278629712Can you guess what the word of the day is?  That’s right, it is Retention.  You know what it means, but is your business doing everything it can to retain the customers who visit you?  In order to grow a business you must do two things, acquire new customers and keep them around for a LONG time.  Yet, studies show that businesses are over 3x more likely to focus on acquisition efforts compared to retention efforts.  This post will focus on why retention is important necessary  CRUCIAL to your business plan.
Retention Makes More Money Honey
166According to estimates, around 80% of future revenue for businesses come from just 20% of existing customers.  And it is not hard to figure out why, existing customers are easier to sell to.  They are comfortable, they know your business.  The likelihood of converting an existing customer to buy from you again is 60-70%, while the likelihood of converting a new prospect to purchase is only 5-20%!  Are you playing the odds correctly?  By focusing your resources to improve the way you retain customers, your company has the potential to generate a significant amount of revenue.  The more you retain, the more money you have to spend on gains.
Retention Has Less Cost Boss
The cost of customer acquisition (CAC) have been estimated to cost 4 to 10 times more than the cost of retaining an existing one.  Not to mention that existing customers are familiar with your business and require a lot less hand-holding and understand how to go through the process and where to get help to solve any problems they may encounter.  As a result, existing customers are a lot cheaper to provide service to.  And your existing customer base is a golden source for referrals, therefore efforts you put into retention will help grow your customer base.  Keeping customers around for the long haul means you’re delivering a great experience and you can turn your happy customer’s success stories into case studies to bring in more prospects.
Retention Is a Marketing King
Not only do your retention efforts generate revenue, they also give you a lot of insights on how to improve your marketing effort to acquire new customers by letting you know what content you need to communicate to prospects, and who you need to be targeting.
Welp, How Does DeliveryMaxx Help?

How will Social Media Help or Hurt Scholarship Opportunities

Stories continue to come out which show student athletes whom are losing their scholarship due to posts made on social media.  It is unfortunate and will continue to become more and more prominent.  Recently the NCAA has ruled that college coaches are allowed to “click, not comment” on social media posts by prospective student athletes.  This means college coaches can friend, like and even share the prospective student athletes post.  This new ruling already is having a dramatic effect on college recruiting.

If you are planning to become a student athlete it is very important you are educated on the impact social media will have on your future.  The use of profanity, images of you with alcohol, bullying, and wearing skimpy clothing are all examples of how it may cost you a scholarship. It’s not just the scholarship you should be concerned with either. College admissions offices and employers are also going to be using social media to better understand what kind of candidate you are.  In addition, colleges and employers are viewing the pages you are following, liking, and posts you are sharing.  Remember your mother saying, “Be careful of the company you keep?”  As a side note, I had a coach who always tells his players that you can never outrun your reputation.  That rings even more true in regards to social media!

Now that doesn’t mean don’t use social media.  Social Media can be used to share with the world what type of person you really are.  Think of social media as a platform to share with colleges, coaches and even potential employers that you are a positive role model for their program.  Remember, your image is going to be plastered throughout the institution, on the media guides as well as their social media network.  It’s fine for you to have some silly images of yourself, but be conscious that your page contains no profanity, and understand the balance between sharing how hard you are working outside of your select or high school programs.

Social media is not at all bad. It actually can be used as a powerful recruiting tool to gain exposure.  DeliveryMaxx highly recommends putting together short video clips that can shared on your personal social media accounts such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter. We even suggest creating a Facebook profile or fan page. This is a great place to check in at tournaments, share articles, video and pictures. Although some of your peers may not utilize Facebook, the college coaches who are recruiting you are using it.  DeliveryMaxx customizes a mobile App that will allow you to build a personal profile page that college coaches can easily look at as well as allow you to share all of the great things you are doing throughout your network.

A great recruiting tip is to follow all of the college programs that interest you. The coaches post awesome clips of their athletes in practices, matches, traveling, and site-seeing. It’s fun to follow and it is easier to stay up-to-date when you are sending your own updates. You can take the time to personalize your emails to them to reflect their record or upcoming matches. You will also get a better feel for what the next level is really like and whether it’s for you.

Good luck with achieving your dreams of becoming a student athlete and remember everyone is watching!
