Changing your Perspective and Adapting

Albert Einstein, the German-born theoretical physicist who developed the theory of relativity has been credited and often cited as saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”  This quote has been used in countless arguments to persuade others into gaining a new perspective in the way things are currently being done.  It usually flows off the tongue and the recipient of the phrase has probably failed in their task, but continues to keep trying without adapting to the adversity.  Another of his famous quotes is, “Life is like riding a bicycle.  To keep your balance you must keep moving.”  Riding the bicycle in business is a perfect analogy comparing the two.  However, businesses can also look at the quote penned by Einstein whose name would become synonymous with ‘genius’ is, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.  Knowledge is limited.  Imagination encircles the world.”

Over the last 3 months, America has entered into The 2nd Great Depression with over 38.6 million people losing their jobs.  Businesses such as Pier 1, True Religion, J. Crew, Neiman Marcus, JCPenney, Tuesday Morning and most recently Hertz.  These are the big names that have been causalities of our reaction to a seasonal virus.  There are a plethora of small businesses that will enter the grave as an unknown.  A virus that has a cure rate of over 99.9% has frightened people into wearing mask and gloves while they are driving as well as terrified people into avoiding eye contact with friends and neighbors at the local grocery store, has presented challenges to many businesses.  Those businesses must change their perspective and quickly adapt if they don’t want to be added to the growing list of companies that will shut their door forever.

·         Change Your Perspective.  Being well-informed can be frustrating.  You probably knew that there was no way that a flu-like virus would kill 2.2 million Americans by April 15 as the famous Epidemiologist Neil Ferguson predicted and so many of our local politicians shouted behind a podium.  You did the simple math and looked at the misinformation that the media published and quickly saw that 6027 people would have to die a day just to hit that number in a year, and over 36,666 people would have to die a day to meet the doomsday prediction of an epidemiologist who has a history of being wrong many times before.  Yet, even though you used common sense, many people do not.  It’s easier to follow than it is to lead.  Therefore, change your perspective to utilizing your business to meet the needs of potential customers.  Your customers are scared and instead of being mad at them, have empathy.  It takes time to research.  There are also many egos involved.  Nobody wants to be told they are wrong (and there are millions of Americans that have fallen for the overhyped rhetoric).  Identify what people want out of life.  They want to be able to have a story of overcoming adversity of some type.  They want to have a purpose that they can be proud of.  This virus, if it lived up to the hype, would have been that perfect story for them.  Therefore, look at ways that you can provide your customers satisfaction and some significance in their existence.  Realize that they want to feel valued and if you show them this they will become a customer for life.

·         Adapt. Remember, your customers have been told they can get the virus which they believe will be deadly just by swimming in a pool.  They have chosen to try to save face by only listening to reports that fit their narrative.  Have you ever tried to make your kid eat a vegetable they don’t like?  It is a battle that you won’t win even if you use logic and common sense.  You will need to invest in PPE products, at minimum hand-sanitizer and cleaning solutions.  Become more transparent with your employees and customers alike.  Let them know you care about their health.  If putting up Plexiglas dividers will allow you to continue to do business than do it.  Also focus on how your customers receive their information.  Our society ingest its information from bold sensationalized headlines, innovative memes and 15-30 second videos.  Leaders will need to make sure their business is able to reach, communicate and provide goods and services using today’s technology.  This includes marketing, advertising, e-commerce and informing your customers and potential customers in the digital arena.  Digital Advertising is less expensive than traditional advertisement, but it has to be done right.

Einstein said, “A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.”  Our country is divided into those who use logic and those who need to be told what to think, and realizing this will give you a new perspective and allow you to adapt in order for your business to survive.

Fight or Flight in the Year 2020

Every young boy who played or who has attempted to play sports knows what it means to either “Fight or Flight” all too well.  At first glance, one might think the cause of the dilemma the player would be a game situation, but most of the time it was in the locker room.  There would inevitably be a situation presented that the player would have to make a choice to stand up for what he felt was right or back down and try to deescalate the situation.  “Fight or Flight”.

Today, business owners are faced with a variety of situations that have or will trigger the release of hormones that will prepare them to either face the continuous threats or try to move to safety.  In the past, our ancient ancestors faced dangers in their environment.  They could either fight or flee.  Sun Tzu, the legendary Chinese military strategist from 5th Century BC would use both options as a strategy in his well-read book, “The Art of War”.

Instead of facing enemies armed with weapons determine to take your life, in business, we are faced with challenges that try to alter our path.  My home state of Texas is facing an unemployment rate of 12.8% which is the worst on record.  The closest past unemployment rate was 9.2% back in November of 1986 during the last big oil bust.  Every state in the Union has been hit hard.  Nevada, for example, has registered an unemployment rate exceeding 28% which is the highest in the nation due in large part to its reliance on tourism and hospitality.  The overall unemployment number is at 38.6 million at the time of this blog with an average of 2 million new filings a week.  To understand how big this number is, 38.6 million is greater than the combined population of 21 states.

Mainstream news media that continues to scare uninformed citizens by distorting the truth, power hungry politicians (although a few have changed their stance because of the unrest of their voters) and opportunist who continue to profit off of a pandemic that has a 99.9% recovery rate (much better than the seasonal flu) have become a business owners’ nemesis.  The so-called stimulus meant to assist businesses to keep their doors open while we “flattened the curve” and ease the burden for hospitals; instead lined the pockets of political operatives and their interest.  These enemies of the people have and continue to threaten the lives of millions minimalizing the crisis by flippantly calling it “The New Normal”.

So we are faced with a choice.  Fight or Flight.  There will be casualties in this civil war.  Currently, as we are experiencing The 2nd Great Depression in the year 2020, we will see deaths from suicide and stress related illness.  We will see families destroyed through divorce, child and spousal abuse.  Crime rate will be much more than a neighbor reporting another neighbor for not “Social Distancing”.  Alcohol and drug abuse will rise.  The Government of the People will give way to the Powerful Elite.  The top .05% of wage earners will increase while over 95% of the population will soon learn why deflation is not what economist want to see.

History has shown civilizations having mass exodus from countries such as Ireland, Sweden, Germany and most recent, Mexico and Honduras.  Can you imagine Americans running for the boarder to the North or even the South?  Our other option is to stay and fight.

Necessity is the mother of invention.  To survive, businesses must understand the fears of their employees and potential customers.  Although the threat of the seasonal virus has been proven to have been overhyped and the response to the threat has been catastrophic to tens of millions; business have to adapt to the current battleground.  Investment in PPE products and having a digital strategy will be crucial to stay alive.  Staying transparent and forming alliances between competition and your own employees will forge a stronger bond allowing you to operate at a point of strength versus weakness.  New opportunities will emerge and appear before you as you survey the ever-changing economic landscape.  You will have battle scars, but if you stay the course you will come out victorious.  God Speed to all of you!

Take control of your own destiny and do not rely on the humanity of corporations or the effectiveness of a bloated government.  We are not in this together… yet we could be by choosing not to listen to those that say we are. We can stop succumbing to the fearmongering and support each other in our own communities.

Let Passion Drive Your Business

Over the last 3 months, we have all had a lot of time to reflect on our purpose in life.  For many, we have let our careers define who we are.  If this is the case, why are there not more people that absolutely love and have a desire to punch that time clock every Monday morning?  If you are one of those who are still procrastinating after a long Memorial Day Weekend by browsing the internet and stumbling onto this blog… You’re Welcome.  This is a perfect blog for you.

Do you have passion for what you do?  I’m not talking about “Pizza Friday’s” we all remember in elementary school.  I’m not even talking about the desire for the clock to strike 11 AM and the glorious sound of the bell releasing us for an hour of recess.  I’m talking about the 24/7 ultimate fixation, mouth drooling, weak at the knees, heart palpitating excitement to get to do what you want to do.

Very few people get to experience this type of bliss typically because of fear.  However, once you find your passion, use it to absolutely drive your business to reach heights you can only dream of.  That passion will be contagious.  Your employees will want a taste of it.  Your family will appreciate you for it.  More importantly, you will have found your purpose making 5 o’clock Fridays another hour in the day.

This doesn’t mean you won’t have obstacles that stand in your way because you will.  Peers may resent your happiness.  Friends and sometimes spouses may feel like they are competing for your time.  Your competition will do everything they can to tear you down.  However, armed with passion for what you do will carry you through the finish line.  The great thing about possessing passion is that what seems like a tough rat race for most, will allow you to sprint a marathon.

People want to do business with companies that love and have a passion for what they do.  The want to see the dream and in reality live vicariously through you.  Think about professional athletes for a moment.  Why do you think they always have an entourage around them?  The same goes for your business.

Build your entourage by letting your customers and potential customers have a taste of your passion.  With today’s technology businesses can easily share with the world their passion.  People are spending more time on the internet than ever before.  Today more than ever, the consumer wants to see something positive and if you are teasing the world with a positive glass of passion, they will ultimately want to buy the whole container.

DeliveryMaxx has been the leader in this arena over the last decade and continues to help businesses in all sectors reach their potential customers by sharing their passion through the most innovative digital strategy utilizing common sense and today’s technology.  Our clients experience positive Online Reputation, stronger SEO, concise content management, increase in social media engagement and advertisement and higher customer retention.  We are able to customize and create a strategy for any entity that is trying to gain more exposure on the web.  With clients in multiple industries and across the country such as Automotive Dealerships, Real-Estate Brokers & Agents, Churches, Service Industry, Sports Teams, Non-Profit Organizations and more; we utilize our Patent-Pending Program to develop a digital strategy that will meet the needs of sales, service and messaging to the masses.  For more information about DeliveryMaxx contact (888) 938-6299 or watch the DeliveryMaxx Introduction Video!

Helpful Recommendations to Survive and Rebuild Your Business

For the last two months, business owners like myself have been very frustrated and in many cases at a loss for what to do next.  First, we all should agree that reactions to the Coronavirus have negatively impacted many businesses.  Like many of you, a wide variety of emotions have emerged as the goal post continued to change as we tried to conduct business in an ever-changing economic environment.

Instead of writing a blog blaming the government for abusing power, complaining about the mainstream media providing misinformation, exposing the big banks for squeezing out the small businesses for PPP funding or even shaming the citizens for allowing their fear to dictate the new rules and regulations that have severely limited businesses to achieve success; I have decided to talk about actions DeliveryMaxx has taken.  Hopefully, this blog will give you and your business some positive actions you might be able to take allowing you to adapt, survive, rebuild, and ultimately thrive.  Like us, you have probably invested your life savings to build your dream job, not for the sole purpose of making a living, but because you truly enjoy actively participating in the services or products your company provides.

There are several steps you can take to position your company and operate at a point of strength.  Reaching potential clients, promoting a safe environment, networking, identifying ways to help others and willingness to adapt are just a few recommendations we encourage you to look at:

·         Reaching Potential Clients. Due to the government shutting down business operations as we know it; it is imperative that you have a strong presence on the internet.  This means your website has become your primary store front.  It should be easy to navigate and allow your potential customer to receive all of the information they are looking for.  However, you must have a digital strategy that helps guide people to your website.  Think about the internet as a highway.  If you were able to put up a billboard on every exit of the highway guiding people to your place of business, would that be helpful?  Of course it would.  That is how you want to use your social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blogger, WordPress, Pinterest, YouTube and more.  You should have a methodical strategy.  The good news is that digital advertising and marketing is a lot less expensive than traditional advertising.  Companies like DeliveryMaxx can help you.

·         Promoting a Safe Environment.  It does not matter if you think the reaction to the virus was a hoax, overblown or the perfect solution to keep people from getting sick.  Perception is reality and the reality is there are a lot of people who are afraid due to the information or misinformation they have received.  Therefore, if you want to build your clientele to solicit your place of business you will want to make sure they feel safe and are willing to step foot in your building.  Although your employees are probably thankful to get back to work, they too receive a lot of information.  They may not express their feeling to you, so you can ease their concerns by providing the appropriate PPE supplies to allow them to do their job safely.  Personal Protection Supplies can be anything from KN95 Mask, disposable gloves, hand sanitizer or disinfectant spray.  Companies like Apache Commodities Group have fair pricing below market and can even provide bulk products and pricing for your needs.

·         Networking.  With so many people telecommuting and utilizing virtual contacting services; having great relationships with others is vital.  Talk with your vendors or partners.  Be transparent with your employees.  Let your business accounts know what is going on in your world.  The more you share, the more likely it will be for someone else to identify with your experiences.  Join a networking group even if it is a small group.  Every business has been affected by the current situation and the landscape will continue to move.  Experiences of the past will always help you prepare for the future.  The more people you are in contact with the more experiences you will have access to allowing you to position your business for success.

·         Help Others.  This area is personal for me and DeliveryMaxx.  Throughout this whole ordeal, I have experienced the same frustrations as many of you.  I have felt like I was put on a remote island with no tools or help from others.  I swallowed my pride and shared my concerns and sure enough there were individuals that offered to introduce me to others that might need my services.  There were individuals that helped me navigate through the regulations of securing funding to allow me to operate.  There were even clients who understood my value and instead of cutting out my services, identified other ways I could help.  When I sat back and realized I could do the same for others, business began to grow.  I offered to use my expertise at a minimum cost to them.  Many times, my new clients and my company used unique billing methods that would be advantageous to both of us.  In some cases my company achieved more revenue and in other cases we added more work without adding revenue.  However, the satisfaction we gained helping others was a huge boost to our psyche and that gave us another ally in these chaotic times.

·         Willingness to Adapt.  You have a choice.  You can draw a line in the sand and decide not to cross it.  This can be admirable to some extent, but if your business can’t function, who does that help?  Or you can compromise and adapt.  Take for example a restaurant.  Putting up Plexiglas dividers is not ideal.  In many cases, it does not make a lot of sense when you really analyze what it is doing.  The same goes for having the wait staff wearing a mask.  However, if that is what it takes to open your doors and get back to 100% capacity that might be something you have to look at doing in order to survive.  You don’t have to compromise your beliefs or alter your moral compass.  However, if you can keep your business going for another day, month or even another year; you are giving your business a chance to survive.

On behalf of DeliveryMaxx, I hope that these suggestions will help you and your business survive, rebuild and thrive better than it ever has before. Please feel free to contact us and we can identify ways to allow you to get back to business as usual.

DeliveryMaxx continues to help businesses in all sectors reach their potential customers through the most innovative digital strategy utilizing common sense and today’s technology.

DeliveryMaxx Congratulates 2020 Seniors

When the beginning of the school year began for the 2020 seniors; nobody would have predicted what would have happened in the World much less the United States.  Not only did the economy coming to a screeching halt but high school students would have their lives turned upside down as well.  Distance learning would become the norm, cancellations of prom and unorthodox graduations would be planned.  The high school senior would soon learn that nothing is guaranteed in life and no matter how much you prepare for the uncertainty; everything can be taken away in an instant.

The Class of 2020 doesn’t know a world without 9/11 as it is a historical event rather than something they lived through.  A Texan occupied the White House when they were born and they were only 6 years old when the first Black American was elected to the highest position in America.  They are younger than the iPod, which was released in 2001 and only 5 years old when the first iPhone was released.  YouTube launched while they were 3 years old and SpongeBob SquarePants is older than all of the 2020 seniors as is the video game series Halo.  “Call of Duty” video game came out when they were a year old.  MySpace had launched when they were one and they had just turned 2 by the time Facebook was created.  When they were 4 years old, Twitter became a mainstay in social media.  They have participated in viral challenges like the Harlem Shake and Ice Bucket Challenge.  Popular communication methods are “Texting” and “Snapping” friends.  Pew Research is classifying the high school class of 2020 as post-millennials or Gen Z.
In addition to helping businesses navigate the current economic climate providing strategies for companies to reach a larger market share through digital media platforms, DeliveryMaxx would also like to congratulate the sons of James Schaefer and Mark Henry.  James is the Founder of DeliveryMaxx and Mark is the Business Development Director.  Both of their sons, graduating high school seniors, Joseph Schaefer and Zach Henry were Captains for this year’s Rockwall Yellow Jackets State Semifinalist Football Team.  They have been teammates of each other since the 6th grade.

Joseph is graduating in the top 5% of his class and will be attending Wesleyan University in Connecticut this fall.  He will be playing football for the Cardinals and majoring in Economics.  While in high school, Joseph was the inaugural President for the Young Men’s Service League and a member of the National Honor Society as well as being selected to serve on the Student Leadership Council.  He was a 2 year letterman for the Yellow Jackets Football Team earning All-District Honors as a Junior, and 1st Team All-District as well as 1st Team Academic All-State as a senior.  In November Joseph was named Jacket Athlete of the Month  having 25 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 Pass Break-up in three Rockwall playoff victories for the month of November in 2019.  Head Coach Rodney Webb shared, “Joseph has led our defense late in the season in addition to leading the entire team as a senior captain.  Joseph Schaefer has epitomized the meaning of JFND (Jacket Fight Never Dies) in our three playoff victories this November.”  Playing linebacker, Joseph finished his senior season tied for 3rd in Most Tackles in a Single Season in Rockwall History for the 2019-2020 year.

Zach will be attending the University of Texas in Arlington this coming fall.  He will be playing baseball for the Mavericks and majoring in Business and Sports Medicine.  During high school, Zach was a member of Student Council and PALS. He was a 3-year letterman in both baseball and football for the 6-A program which competes on the largest stage of high school sports.  He earned 2nd Team All- District as a Junior and 1st Team All-District his Senior Year at the Running Back position.  In three years he racked up 2932 yards and 39 touchdowns.  In November of 2018 he was named Jacket Athlete of the Month rushing for 311 yards and scored 6 total touchdowns in three November football games for the Jackets.  Zach's 118 yards rushing is the most allowed by a single player versus Allen in 2018.  The next highest total was 109 yards by EJ Smith of Jesuit - the son of Emmitt Smith.  “Zach Henry was an offensive catalyst for our great month of November, in which our offense averaged 44 points per game” stated, Coach Rodney Webb.  For baseball he earned 2nd Team All-District as a sophomore.  His Junior Year he was named 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-State as an Outfielder and Offensive Player of the Year.  He would also be named Dallas Morning News Player of the Week.

Both boys attended Rockwall Schools from elementary through high school.  After playing against each other for several years in baseball and football in various select leagues; they became members of the same Select All-Star Team in football traveling to Oklahoma for the National Showcase Competition.  Zach would play quarterback while Joseph shored up the defense at linebacker.  Both boys would take their talents to Williams Middle School for 7th and 8th grade before entering Rockwall High School.  They each played on the 9th Grade A-Team as starters before making their way to Varsity their sophomore year (Zach at the beginning of the season and Joseph for playoffs).  The boys would end up helping the Jackets Football Program collect a total of 6 playoff wins (3 Bi-District, 1 Area, 1 Regionals, and 1 Quarterfinals Championships). They would finish their high school football career leading the Jackets to the Texas 6A High School Football State Semi-Finals for the first time since 1988 against a loaded Duncanville Panthers team falling one game short to have the chance to play for a State Championship.  Their win against perennial power house Allan High School was recently voted as one of the Top Games of the Decade by 24/7 Sports.  Both Zach and Joseph made some key plays in the game to secure the victory.

Bruce Springsteen released the song, “Glory Days” in 1984.  The song is a seriocomic tale of a man who now ruefully looks back on his so-called "glory days" and those of people he knew during high school.  However, this isn’t the case for these two.  Zach will have a chance to continue his baseball career at UTA in the Sun Belt Conference while Joseph will continue in football for Wesleyan University in the New England Small College Athletic Conference.  Each player is on scholarship and will get to add to their accolades maybe inspiring another artist to write about high school kids that faced challenges head-on and accomplished remarkable things in life.

James and Mark have a lot to be proud of by leading DeliveryMaxx into one of the most innovative digital media companies in the country… especially in today’s economic climate.  However, they will be the first to tell you that they are filled with excitement about their boys’ accomplishments and the bright future each of them have.  Joseph and Zach will conclude their senior year by participating in the graduation ceremonies for Rockwall High School that will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 7 PM.

Congratulations to all of the 2020 High School and College Seniors!  You are the future, and we look forward to seeing all of the great things you will do in the years to come.

The Little Engine That Could and the Lessons We Learned

In times of adversity we rely on our past experiences to get us through to the other side.  There is no doubt that businesses have had to grasp at history and lessons of our past to try to survive the current economic climate of the present.  We also have to believe in the goodness of mankind that there can be a fairytale ending.  Yes, business, especially small businesses have to continue to navigate the unknown as they have faced adversity from mainstream media misinformation and lies, power hungry politicians at the Federal, State and Local Levels and a majority of compliant citizens who were scared into believing the overhyped myths about a seasonal virus that history will show us that it was not much different than the annual flu.  Businesses are faced with trying to survive an unjust government shutdown, rebuild with irrational regulations and ultimately thrive by identifying and adapting to new opportunities.

In 1930 Arnold Munk with the pen name of Watty Piper wrote and published, “The Little Engine That Could.”  It was a story that many of our parents or elementary teachers had read to us.  The classical story is a helpful reminder about the importance of perspective, optimism and hard work.

For those of you that have forgotten the story, a train breaks down with a cargo full of toys.  It will not get over the mountain where it was supposed to deliver the exciting goods to the boys and girls by the morning.  There were several trains that opted not to help giving an excuse as why they didn’t want to give some assistance.

The first train, “A Shiny New Engine” came by and quickly dismissed the plea for help from the small broken down train.  It said it was a passenger train that only helped the rich and powerful.  Next, came the “Big and Strong Engine”.  It could easily help the small broke down train, but it only wanted to help the strong and didn’t have time for such an insignificant train like the one carrying toys.  Finally, a “Little Blue Engine” that was small and hadn’t even been over the mountain before came by and saw all of the distress the small broken down train was in.  It knew the troubles it might face, but armed with hope and a desire to help it accepted the challenge.  “I think I can, I think I can” became the mantra and the “Little Blue Engine” despite facing insurmountable odds was able to deliver the toys to the boys and girls by the next morning.

Our businesses have been challenged with “types of trains” that dismissed our needs.  Whether it was banks like Wells Fargo, politicians like the local County Judges or Mayors and the news media that sensationalized stories to scare the public into submission; business owners and their employees have had to keep thinking positive working harder than ever just to survive.  Now we are faced with rebuilding as States are slowly opening back up despite the forces from the opposition.

Businesses will still have to adapt to the new regulations that have been unjustly put in place.  One learning we can take away is that our society ingest its information from bold sensationalized headlines, innovative memes and 15-30 second videos.  Therefore, leaders will need to make sure their business is able to reach, communicate and provide goods and services using today’s technology.  This includes marketing, advertising, e-commerce and informing your customers and potential customers in the digital arena.  Digital Advertising is less expensive than traditional advertisement, but it has to be done right to be effective.

A day will come for the small business that adapts where instead of saying, “I think I can” we will be saying, “I thought I could.”

DeliveryMaxx has been the leader in this arena over the last decade and continues to help businesses in all sectors reach their potential customers through the most innovative digital strategy utilizing common sense and today’s technology.

Avoid Becoming a Statistic

In 1839 Edward Bulwer Lytton wrote the phrase, “The pen is mightier than the sword”.  This powerful statement suggested that the press is a more effective tool than direct violence.  During that time, newspapers were the primary source of information exposing the actions of the government.

Today, instead of reading a newspaper that was once delivered on our doorsteps in the early morning sharing events that happened over 24 hours prior, information is available instantly just by picking up a mobile device.  We are able to know the latest bulletins almost as quickly as they happen and in many cases while they are happening.  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, WordPress, Blogger and other social media platforms allow readers to view headlines form an opinion and quickly react expressing their opinions.

There have been more post and comments with a differing of opinions about the current seasonal Coronavirus in a 60 day timespan than articles written during the eras of Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War II, Civil Rights Movement, and Vietnam War in the same timeframe.

One side of the debate on the severity of the soon to be annual virus falsely predicted 2.2 million people would die in the United States by April 15th.  They scared people into giving up their rights by ordering businesses that were less “essential” than a McDonald’s employee to close their business.  The government tried to appease millions by lining lobbyist groups with 1.8 Trillion dollars leaving 389 Billion for small businesses to beg for just to survive.  Their narrative changed from staying at home for 2 weeks to lessen the burden in hospitals to not letting Americans pursue life, liberty and happiness until they can completely eradicate a virus that will return year after year.

The other side of the debate acknowledged that there was a new virus that came out of Communist China, which was getting demolished by the Trade War against the United States.  They suggested that the only way we would hit 2.2 million deaths in a year (not 60 days as suggested) from a virus that has less than a .05% mortality rate was for 6027 people would have to die a day.  Using logic, they requested a recommendation of those that might be susceptible to the virus with flu-like symptoms and were concerned to stay at home.  Then the government could pass a much smaller stimulus to help out those that might actually be unsafe.  There predictions of The 2nd Great Depression is quickly becoming a reality as 36 million people nationwide have lost their ability to bring in an income which is more than 1 out of 5 U.S. workers.

Instead, the government from the Federal, State and Local levels have and continues to mortgage our future while the mainstream media perpetuates fear destroying the United States from within.  Suicide Rates, Child and Spousal Abuse, Unemployment and Alcohol Sales continue to rise faster than the predicted death rate of 2.2 million by Neil Ferguson and our local County Judges and Mayors.

A Long Time Ago… Just Over 60 Days

What seems like ages ago was actually only 60 days ago.  Yes… 60 days ago there was still enough toilet paper to go around that people would even occasionally ‘decorate’ chosen homes.  People would wave at you in the stores, and spend a little time talking with you upon recognition.  Parents of high school seniors were planning graduation parties and summer trips.  Soon to be college graduates were looking forward to making their mark on society and starting new careers.  The stock market was at an all-time high while unemployment was at an all-time low.  Our President was busy making America great while the Democratic contenders were exploring options to provide tuition-free education available to everyone.  You could get a haircut and then spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying a latté on the patio with some friends.  Monday mornings were a drag because the weekend seemed too short, and conference meetings were held in a windowless room with your colleagues.  If you were wearing a mask while going to the bank; you were probably going to end up being on the 6 o’clock news and arrested.  Nobody ever thought of a McDonald’s cook as essential nor did we really give a second thought to the cashier at Wal-Mart on how vital they would be in our society.  Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu were complimentary entertainment on a Sunday afternoon.  Discussions about baseball’s opening day were starting to heat up and Las Vegas was preparing to showcase their new venue by hosting the NFL Draft.  Nobody knew what an Epidemiologist was and we all thought that the government advocating tracking devices installed in humans, drone surveillance, social media censorship and apps that allowed neighbors to report neighbors simply for having a conversation was something only found in a Sci-Fi Movie.

That was 60 days ago!

Today is much different.  Suicide Rates, Child and Spousal Abuse, Unemployment and Alcohol Sales continue to rise faster than the predicted death rate of 2.2 million by Neil Ferguson and our local County Judges and Mayors.  America was told to flatten the curve by staying inside their homes to lessen the burden of the hospitals, but now we are laying off medical workers because there are not enough patients to provide a need.  We are arresting lawful people who are trying to put food on the table for their family while releasing rapist and other criminals from prison.
History is being made!

Our Government has somehow managed to give almost 3 Trillion Dollars to their special donors and is looking to buy additional votes with another 3 Trillion Dollar bribe disguised as a stimulus.  They are wanting to tax the average citizens so they can give Hazard Pay to Costco Workers and other frontline employees who have been able to secure a steady paycheck.  America is less than 2% points from etching its way into the annals of history by entering The 2nd Great Depression.

The world is changing and we are expected to accept a “New Normal” controlled by a New World Order.

How to sell to Ignorant Uninformed People

Ouch!  Now that I have turned off 1000’s of people with this headline, let me talk to those of you who want to have a clear understanding of what is happening.  In general, we only take time to read headlines.  Therefore, when you want to get a message to potential buyers, businesses must understand that most will not take the time to hear your message.  Our society ingests its information from bold sensationalized headlines, innovative memes and 15-30 second videos.

For example, we were introduced to a seasonal virus with symptoms much like the flu.  The news media spread the propaganda from certain politicians with a self-serving agenda and the United States was separated into “Essential” and “Non-Essential” classes.  We were only supposed to close down for a couple of weeks to minimize the burden of the hospitals so they could treat all cases as needed.  Quickly, this pitted those that could work to side with these ridiculous unconstitutional orders against those that were stripped of being able to provide for their families.  This gave the corrupt politicians and news media an audience who failed to question the actual numbers behind the misinformation.
As weeks turned into months, the narrative changed from relieving hospitals of the burden to the prevention of all COVID-19 deaths.  The Federal Government gave control to the States and power hungry local county judges and mayors seized unprecedented power to control their citizens.  These local politicians with a severe case of Napoleon Complex perpetuated the destruction of our economy based on ever-changing science without actually using logic.  They bullied citizens into submission by labeling them as selfish and greedy shaming anyone who disputed the illogical rhetoric.
Those that are still reading this blog have always questioned the numbers and information.  They have researched the facts and have come to a conclusion that the world is changing and we are expected to accept a “New Normal” controlled by a New World Order.

For those of you who like headlines, I am listing a few to make a point:

·         The economic devastation wrought by the pandemic could ultimately kill more people than the virus itself- Los Angeles Times, May 11, 2020.
·         During March 2020, the Disaster Distress Helpline saw a 338 percent increase in call volume compared with February 2020- Journal of the American Medical Association, April 2020
·          The Coronavirus Could Cause a Child Abuse Epidemic- New York Times, April 7, 2020
·         Surge in divorces anticipated in wake of COVID-19 quarantine- ABC News, April 17, 2020
·         Domestic violence has increased during coronavirus lockdowns- The Economist, April 22, 2020
·         COVID-19 drives alcohol sales and abuse- USC News, April 14, 2020
·         An unemployment rate of 23%. The real jobless picture is coming together- CNBC, April 23, 2020

If you have a business, and you want to spread your message; you must understand how your audience will find you on the internet.  Blogs must be written with attention grabbing headlines, pictures must be posted daily that show off your products/services and videos should be exciting, short and to the point.

We published a blog April 2, 2020 titled, “What the 2nd Great Depression will look like”.  Unfortunately for many, DeliveryMaxx has been spot-on with prognosticating what will happen if we continue to allow tyranny while trying to help businesses in all sectors and ultimately all of those who will be negatively affected by the shutdown of our economy. We have been writing blogs discussing the challenges business will face and how to survive, rebuild and ultimately thrive as the playing field continues to change.  You can read all of our blogs starting in March 13th through today by visiting https://deliverymaxx.wordpress.com/.

Building Your Following and Increasing Sales

Going to the grocery store over the past several weeks can become quite depressing.  Many people are afraid to look you in the eye as if the season virus could be passed from one healthy person to another just by sight.  With people being afraid of talking to one another, I have come to the conclusion that there are some who think the virus is the first virus known to mankind with the ability to transfer based on soundwaves.

As ridiculous as this sounds, the overhyped season virus has had so much misinformation shared by our politicians at the National, State and Local levels which they continue to regurgitate based on the over sensationalized stories the news media has fed them.  Naïve citizens have been scared into submission quickly giving up their rights to provide a living to feed their children sharing false narratives to their friends and family through social media.

It is apparent that the majority of us will form our opinions based on social media.  Businesses will have to quickly adapt to a vigilant digital media strategy that is built to reach an audience that is glued to watching 15 second videos and is highly impressed by a pithy meme.  Our attention spans are short, and the point of the message needs to be made within seconds.

When it comes to an online digital strategy, businesses must make sure their message is concise and supportive of their narrative.  If a business provides a great product or service, there should be several pieces to their online digital media strategy that supports these claims:

·         Blogs- These are written pieces that have the ability to educate the consumer with facts and supporting documents.  Great stories on how the product or service is being used can validate these assertions.  It is also important to insert current events into these blogs.  Letting the public know that you know what is going on in the world is important.

·         Reviews- Many companies talk about getting a “lot of stars”, but reviews are so much more than that.  The goal is to have customers mention the product/service, why they visited your business and who specifically helped them.  Have you ever notices negative reviews state all of these things, but positive reviews might be a one word or one sentence on why they are happy?  Businesses should make it available and easy for their happy customers to be able to share their complete experience with the world on multiple platforms.  Video Testimonies should also be part of every businesses digital media strategy.  If we can see a customer truly happy, then it is more believable.  If you are a business that still pays for “Fake Reviews” customers can see through this.  Number one, those reviews are not being looked at by the average customer and number two, if you are spending that much time on “Fake Reviews” your business will never achieve maximum profitability.

·         Daily Post- There must be a method behind your post.  Are the post engaging to customers?  Do they create an emotion that can create a call to action?  If you are paying a company to put the same post on your sites as every other one of their clients sites than you are not understanding how daily post work.  In addition, you should be putting daily post on all of your social media sites to make sure you are optimizing the opportunity to reach additional customers.

·         Video Messaging- There is nothing better than a candid video that talks about your business or the service you provide.  The most searched videos are “How to Videos”.  Everyone utilizes the internet to find information.  If you want people to search your business, you better have the information they are looking for.

Automated Follow Up- Customer Retention is easier than finding new customers.  Your digital strategy should have a consistent approach to letting the customer know you care.  This should also be in a digital format to allow your customer to easily share the information with all of their friends and family.

DeliveryMaxx has been the leader in this arena over the last decade and continues to help businesses in all sectors reach their potential customers through the most innovative digital strategy utilizing common sense and today’s technology.

E-Commerce is the best Revenge for Small Businesses

As the tides of public opinion of the severity of the Coronavirus are quickly shifting as politicians, some in the mainstream media and the average American; the carnage of 33.5 million lost jobs are part of the aftermath that has been left behind.  According to a recent FORTUNE article, the Real unemployment rate has soared past 24.9% which is just shy of the highest level of unemployment during The Great Depression of 1929 which was 25.6%.  When you add the new unemployment figures with the 7.1 already unemployed Americans, the real unemployment rate is more than 40 million.

Headlines will soon shift to companies like J.Crew, Niemen Marcus, Kroger, Pier 1 imports, CMX Cinemas, Gold’s Gym, Krystal, Lucky’s Market and others will either file for bankruptcy or restructure.  They may not shut their doors forever, but vendors, creditors and employees will become the latest victims in the overhyped COVID-19 scare of 2020.

The list of these big businesses will be sure to grow and employees and small businesses that depend on these companies will be the ones left to suffer.  In addition, Bloomberg is predicting that 52% of U.S. Small Businesses will fail even as states are starting to partially open up.

We can’t blame the media because any sane person should know the media sensationalizes stories to increase revenue from advertisement.  We really can’t blame politicians because their job security comes from having 1 more vote than the 50% who actually vote.  The lack of leadership has been on display from our Federal Government and State Government, but the worst has been the local County Judges and Mayors who showed their total lack of understanding and laziness to actually lead.  They quickly took to whatever camera was pointing their direction and spewed off misinformation disguised as facts and imprisoned small businesses leaving them to die.  However, the real people to blame are those who look back at us in our mirrors.  We failed to use logic and reason.  We failed to question why it wasn’t likely to get the virus by going to Walmart to fight over toilet paper.  We failed to question people like Chris Cuomo, CNN reporter and brother of flamboyant New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who told the world he was stricken with the seasonal virus and how bad it was.  However, the same week he was supposed to be in quarantine, he was out with family and friends at a dinner party.  We accepted shutting down and ruining the 2020 seniors from finishing high school and college, but allowed Costco, Home Depot, Government Offices, News Media, McDonalds and others to operate fully unscathed.  We made the decision to accept Churches being shut down, but a gathering of news reporters listening to the lies our government officials was just fine.  The worst person in this whole debacle was the average American who took to Facebook and say how bad the virus is, but let their kids hang around others showing a complete hypocrisy while they promoted fear among their friends.

The battle has been deadly, but it isn’t over.  Politicians will ramp up their game plan to pin the blame on the other party.  Citizens will attack each other trying to save their original position of their beliefs.  The American Citizen has already shown those in power how willing they are to give up their rights that our Founding Fathers and American Veterans have fought so hard to preserve.  Yes, we are in the midst of war without a bullet being fired…yet.  This war isn’t against China or Iran (although stay tuned), but it is within each and every one of us.  Our enemy is within because we allowed this to happen.  We chose emotion over logic.

Those who are in business have a choice.  We can give up, which in many cases who can blame you.  It’s another uphill battle you will have to climb.  Or we can adapt and try to overcome another adversity that has been thrown in our face.

Every business will need to immediately look to how they can continue to bring in revenue.  They must have a digital strategy that includes E-Commerce solutions:

·         Website. Your website is the one area that you have the most control.  You can share your message and tell your story.  You can also sell your products and services online.  Your website should be simple to navigate, but also allow your potential customers to purchase your goods.

·         Digital Media Strategy.  You must attract potential customers and retain your current customers.  It will be important to utilize social media sites to gain additional viewers and give them reasons to visit your website.  Your digital marketing should not be just posting a funny meme to Facebook or Twitter.  It must be well thought out and strategic to growing your market share.

·         E-Commerce. You will need to implement a way for customers to purchase your goods and services.  The entities that need this the most are the ones who never thought they needed to promote their services on the internet.  We are in the midst of a New Normal.

·         Adapt.  The economic landscape has done a shift more than the San Andreas Fault.  It would be great to have all the answers, but a digital strategy is probably not your expertise.  Finding a company that understands logic, reasoning and knows how to help you navigate through these unchartered times is vital to helping your business survive, rebuild and thrive in the future.

DeliveryMaxx has been the leader in this arena over the last decade and continues to help businesses in all sectors reach their potential customers through the most innovative digital strategy utilizing common sense and today’s technology.
